Getting really excited now. Hope the weather improves though, not to happy about the forecast rain for Sunday. It’d be geat to watch on TV, just not great to sit through!

Same @Dbott The idea’s of sitting in the rain dosn’t sound great. Were flying out Wednesday. and apart from Sunday the weather looks great, lets hope it holds off.

Yeah I have been keeping an eye on the weather too. The temperature has been steadily increasing. I will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for the sunshine too.

hi! Have just found out I’ll be going to the grand prix from the UK!
will be keeping fingers crossed for the weather too…

can anyone recommend how to get from Barca to the track? either the Sagales coaches or train + shuttle bus from Montmelo?

can you use a Barcelona card on the train to Montmelo, can you buy Sagales coach tickets on the coach/same day that you travel?

  • Profile picture of mark mark said 1 year ago:

Hi, If you are travelling by Sagales bus you can purchase your ticket from the Estacio del nord, that is how i will be getting to Montmelo anyway. I think its 9 euro return.

    hey Mark

the coach is sounding like a good idea… can you get any coach, or do you have to get one at a specific slot? so if you missed yours, you’re a bit stuffed.

we’re staying just north of Barca, so will get the Metro into town to make connections.

You can book your Sagales tickets online before you go, save queuing on the day, I’ve done ours, it was very easy, you then print off eTickets.

    thanks Silverfan :)
i’ve had a look, i presume you have to get the specific coach times you book for… including the return journey from the circuit?

edit – ahh you just book tickets for the days you wish, and don’t have to specify a particular timeslot :)

    Hi all,
Myself and the wife are flying out of East Mids on Wednesday, staying on coast – Pineda De Mar. Will be going to the circuit on the Thursday for pit lane walk, and all day Saturday / Sunday (no rain please!). Have tickets for stand J, at pit lane exit.
Anyone have any advice as this will be our first GP?

  • Profile picture of mark mark said 1 year ago:

The bus departs every 30 mins on Saturday and every 15 minutes on the Sunday

Hi James, obvious stuff like ear plugs or a portable radio as there is commentary of the race in english. Food will be expensive so take a rucksack. Glass bottles and cans are not permitted, you may take plastic bottles though, again the prices at the circuit will be expensive. A hat, suncream and a rain mac may be needed also. Hope this has been helpful, have a great time.

    Hi

Me and the girlfriend are in Barca at the moment, it’s my 40th birthday on Saturday so as a birthday treat we went to the Estoril MotoGP and are now waiting for the F1 weekend to start!

Neither of us have been to a race before, apart from the Isle of Man TT, but considering we live on the IOM we tend to take that for granted.

We both really enjoyed Estoril, GP bikes sound awesome IRL as opposed to watching them on the telly and Portugal was a lovely place.

We have tickets for stand E, good choice?

Can anyone recommend any bars in Barca with a good F1 vibe? We are currently staying in the Barcelo Raval if that helps.

    Cheers
