@matthijs, the birthday announcement was in the round-up today; so not because of psychic or amazing deductive powers from me.

I’m sure I’ve seen Venezuela GP Lazarus’ livery somewhere before…

Day two got off to a rough start: 3 red flags in the first hour, before Abt and Quaife-Hobbs came together, causing red flag number 4. The afternoon session was a lot better, with only one red flag near the end. Again, Dillmann ended the day on top, from Coletti and Calado. Racing Engineering did the most laps of all teams (141), while Trident only did 81, the lowest number.

Forecast for tomorrow is wet, so I think I’ll turn my attention to F1 ;)

Caterham has put some HD picture on Flickr. So, if you want some GP2 cars for your background besides those that Keith posted, here are some!

Dillman, Nasr and Calado have been there or thereabouts on both days!

@plutoniumhunter – Yup, definitely the three that will fight for the title.

@bradley13 That is if Dillmann can get a seat, which I seriously hope he does

I wouldn’t be too quick to suggest Dillmann as a title challenger. There’s not a great selection of teams left to him, and if he were to join Hilmer, he’d face the additional cchallenge of being in a team that is only just starting up.

@ryanwilliams – Good point! I really hope James can win it this year. I think he really deserves it, and he has the talent.

@bradley13 Calado is definitely going to be a contender, and a worthy winner too. Would be impressive if he could take title in just his second season, although personally I would like local-lad Jolyon Palmer to win! Also would like to see Mitch Evans and Daniel Abt do well too. They were very impressive in GP3

@ryanwilliams – True. The main reason I want to see Calado do well is that I’ve followed him since Formula Renault, and met him, and it’s good to see someone I’ve met doing well in something :P

It would be a big shame if Dillmann couldn’t get a seat, he showed some real promise last season and has looked solid in testing so far as well.

I hope Dillmann can get that seat, if they can afford it they should take him looking at these testing results. I’m all for drivers who engage with simracing doing well, so far I’ve heard of Dillmann, Lind, Vandoorne doing well online and Stanaway has just won the iRacing Pro series in the Williams FW31, while recovering from his back injury, and will drive in the iRacing Drivers World Championship this year against the best simracers. It’s nice to know how fast these guys are compared to us in an equal environment :D

I would predict that Calado, Leimer, Ericsson, and other non-rookies like Cecotto Jr would be in the championship mix, with Calado favourite going off last year’s results, but I guess we’ll see this year, some are with new teams. I do hope Calado can win the championship after being the best rookie last year, and secure an F1 young driver’s test and role for next year. (Shame they’ve lost the Lotus livery, rather liked that one!)

Calado quickest today then. That’s some good news :)
