    @gabrielfernando Palmer is my favourite GP2 driver, so I hope he has a decent shot at the title. He lives literally 10 minutes up the road from me, and was born in my hometown!

    @ryanwilliams For me, Carlin will be the best GP2 team in 2013, they are growing up very quickly in GP2 and with these guys will make the team even better.
    But I’m afraid whre Calado will go next year, he didn’t do a single test.

    And this show how unpredictable is these GP2 negotiations, Palmer didn’t a single test with carlin.

    Early days indeed but this already has more potential than 2012 put together. With Calado back at ART and Nasr in his second season, and also ‘going home’ with a return to Carlin, two very talented drivers are in plum seats for 2013.

    Anyone else notice that MP tested Rodolfo Gonzalez in their Auto GP car recently. A move to their GP2 team on the cards? (hardly inspiring, I know!)

    Also… err, who are AF Racing?!

    Wow, so few seats confirmed yet! Are GP2 seats always signed so late?

    I’m hoping Robin Frijns can find some money to land a GP2 seat, at least there are plenty still available.

    @adrianmorse If Frijns goes to GP2, will be a step back for him.

  • Profile picture of AdrianMorse AdrianMorse said 5 months, 1 week ago:

    @gabrielfernando, whether or not GP2 would be a step back will depend on how this grid fills out, but anyway I think it would be better for his career to keep racing and to learn about Pirelli tyres than just to hang out in the Sauber garage.

  • Profile picture of Gabriel Fernando Gabriel Fernando said 5 months, 1 week ago:

    @adrianmorse Yeah.

    For me, Arden will go with Ceccoto and Mitch Evans and Lotus with Abt.

    ….and Haryanto and Melker at Dams

    @adrianmorse I think Frijns is looking at doing DTM as his racing alternative this year. One problem with GP2 is if you race you can’t run free practice in F1 (hence Bianchi going to FR3.5 this year). Frijns is likely to be hoping for some FP runs. DTM would keep him race sharp and teach him some things he’d not learn in GP2, which is a lesser series than he was in this year. You are right though, learning Pirelli tyres wouldn’t be a bad thing.

    @jholland, I think DTM is a great series, but it seems to be a bit of a dead-end for single-seater drivers. So far, as far as I know, only DiResta ‘got out’; all the other drivers, such as Vietoris, Mortara, and all those ex-F1 drivers have disappointed, by and large. Also, Sauber has so far not run other drivers in FP1, except for that one occasion when Perez was supposedly ill. Anyway, I’m starting to derail the thread, apologies.

    Calado impressed me this year and stuff like this makes me like him more:
