Wow. There’s some terrible driving on display in that Charles Pic video.

I’m not entirely sure what he was thinking there. The initial contact was just a racing incident; he got squeezed and had nowhere to go. But why on earth was he trying to drive into Filippi lke that? I can only imagine that his front wing broke off and he was trying to shake it loose from under him – he is visibly turning the steering wheel left and right, but the wheels only go to the right – but if that was the case, he knew he was a goner, so why not let Filippi by and then try and shake it out from underneath him?

@prisoner-monkeys Actually when you get your wheels tangled, sometimes there IS nothing you can do because of various forces acting on the steering. I doubt he was deliberately turning into him, but more just in the contact found them being turned by some bit on the car he’s hitting. Or, possibly something on the steering was broken and he was practically a passenger.

And wow, these clips are making me wish I’d watched more GP2 this year! I’ll have to make more of an effort to start following this series.
