Arden will run Daniel Kvyat and Carlos Sainz Jnr in GP3 this year:

Kvyat was runner-up to Stoffel Vandoorne in Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup last year while Sainz was fifth in the FIA’s European F3 championship.

I can’t help but think that’s a mistake by Visoiu. MW Arden is a good team, but they have strong connections to Red Bull through Christian Horner (the owner of Arden). With Kvyat and Sainz Jnr. both getting support through the YDP, they’re probably going to get the first bite at the apple, and Visoiu will have to be content with whatever is left over.

Emanuele Zonzini has joined Trident. Zonzini finished 5th in the Formula Abarth championship last season and recently tested with Trident

Finland’s MTV3 reports that Aaro Vainio may possibly split with manager Nicolas Todt and remain in GP3 due to funding issues.

@sigman1998 I trust Ellinas will remain in the category with Marussia-Manor and challenge for the GP3 title. After all, he’s still set to test Marussia’s F1 car in the near future.

That’s what I like about the GP3 Series silly season – it’s virtually impossible to predict who will go where, but when driver announcements are made, I like to jump on Wikipedia or DriverDB and check them out, to see whether they might be worth following.

For those who were wondering: he’s not related to Marcus Ericsson, which is spelled with a ‘c’.
