Trident have signed Jean Alesi’s son as part of their four-car line-up which also includes Antonio Fuoco, Artur Janosz, and Sandy Stuvik.

Giuliano Alesi finished fourth in the French F4 championship last year with a trio of wins.

DAMS have announced three of their drivers for the next year in their first entry. American F3 driver Santino Ferucci, who stepped onto the podium last season, will switch to GP3. Doesn’t seem like a bad driver and with a top squad with DAMS will be near the front of the field next year. Jake Hughes, from Formula Renault Alps will join DAMS aswell as Renault junior Kevin Jorg, who competed in the Northern European Cup, finishing runner-up.

Colombia’s Tatiana Calderon joins Jack Aitken and Jake Dennis in an interesting line-up at Arden:

Am I right in remembering that drivers will no longer be allowed to compete in European F3 for more than 3 seasons, or have I just made that up? If so, it makes sense for her.

Nirei Fukuzumi has been confirmed for a move up to ART Grand Prix. Here’s some things to know about Japan’s newest GP3 competitor:

This is his third year of single-seaters. He was really quick in December testing at YMC. He had a dominant round last year in Motegi in Japanese F3, where he finished fourth in the championship behind second-year drivers Kenta Yamashita and Mitsunori Takaboshi, and Nick Cassidy, who had small handfuls of European F3 experience beforehand. As good as Nobuharu Matsushita is, Fukuzumi might be even better.

ART has also signed Charles Leclerc, the top rookie in European F3 last year. Their line-up is therefore De Vries, Albon and Fukuzumi.

Would it be premature to just hand ART Grand Prix the teams’ title? The two top rookies in the two leading F3 categories last year, plus another standout in Euro F3, plus a McLaren YDDP member and the top rookie in Formula V8. That’s almost unfair to everyone else.
