Three new teams have joined the GT1 World Series, bringing the grid up to the minimum eighteen cars needed for the championship to go ahead. Exim Bank Team China will switch to Porsche for 2012, while LMP Motorsports will enter as “Valmon Racing Russia” with the Aston Martin DBR9 before switching to the V12 Vantage mid-season. And finally, longtime WTCC entrant SUNRED Engineering will compete with two Ford GTs, with series organisers looking at the possibiility of having them run under the Indian flag.
