Jordan Cane, a product of the British Junior Rotax karting ranks and former Cadet champion, will be obliged to skip the opening few races of the 2015 season before reaching his 14th birthday but has similarly high aspirations.
“The two tests with Team Pelfrey have gone far better than I could’ve possibly expected,” said Cane, who completed a Skip Barber Racing Three-Day Racing School at Road Atlanta and an Advanced Racing School at Lime Rock earlier this year. “We are already on the pace and now testing is set up for next year. The atmosphere in the team is great. I am so excited about next season and cannot wait to go racing. It’s a shame I’ll miss the first couple of rounds of the championship because of my age. I know it will not be easy in my first year but I hope to win races and I think we can do that.”
Team Pelfrey will resume its testing program in December and still has two more places available on its roster for the 2015 F1600 Championship Series campaign.
The latest in a long line of British drivers deciding to advance their racing career in the US. The lower age limit for single seaters doesn’t hurt either…
