I’m not sure, but I do bet that had a hand in helping him get this Indy opportunity.

I must echo everyone’s shared concern. I can understand the immense appeal of doing the 500, but I wish Alesi could do it the right way, with plenty of oval practice, even an oval race or two beforehand, and with an established team and engine supplier. There are so many variables in his situation that could go wrong.

But it all begins today, so let’s see how he does.

Some interesting comments from Justin Wilson regarding the speeds at Indy (& Texas, etc). “When you get two or three car lengths behind someone at 225 miles-per-hour, your helmet’s moving all around, you can’t really hear and it’s hard to see. People don’t get that sensation watching from home.” It all looks pretty tranquil on TV.
