IndyCar’s 2013 schedule hammers on at a breakneck pace: this is their seventh racing weekend out of the last eight.

The teams get the luxury of a three-week break after a double-header on the streets of Toronto which will include the series’ first ever standing start in race one.

Despite flooding in the area recently the races are expected to go ahead:

Whoever was hired to drive that virtual lap should be sacked on the spot…

It looks like a simple “object-on-a-path” animation than any kind of simulator, and not a great animation at that – they probably passed it off to an intern to do it :)

I wish it was a game, though – that’s a really nice version of Toronto. A decent Indycar game is long, long overdue.

I don’t know why Indycar do those virtual laps – it can’t be cheap or easy to knock up 15 or 16 of them each year, particularly with all the attention to detail they give to the scenery. Why can’t they just upload an onboard lap from the previous year? At least then we’d get to see a real driver take the real racing lines at racing speed

Watching qualifying on NBCSN at the moment… my question is why did they not throw the red immediately – if they had, there would have been time for everyone to do another lap… just. RHR misses out from the Fast 6…

Just go away Will Power. At least common sense prevailed in the end, and Dario got 3rd.

That’s looking good for Dixon (and Ganassi after one strugling year). Now he is only three points behind second place man Ryan Hunter-Reay and has pole for the second race.

Looks like they’re going to give the standing start another go in today’s race. Hopefully they’ll manage it today.
