@keithcollantine That’s Globo for you. Last year they never even once mentioned Barrichello was racing in IndyCar – the only thing they dared mention was that he was racing in the ‘United States’.
Another extra for the Indianapolis 500 – GP2 racer Conor Daly:
Daly did the first two races of the GP2 season for Hilmer motorsport. If he continues with them his Indy weekend would involve a dash from Monaco (races on the 24th and 25th) to Indianapolis, where the 500 takes place on the 26th, the same day as the Monaco Grand Prix. It’s probably not that likely but it would be epic!
I had to Wiktionary indefatigable. I was not disappointed.
Awesome news for all Luca Filippi fans: according to Autosport, Luca Filippi will be doing another weekend (or more) this season!
@andae23 You have to wonder how high up he might have finished at Mid-Ohio given he qualified fourth before his penalty. He could really put the cat among the pigeons in the remaining races.
@keithcollantine I’m so happy he managed to raise eyebrows last weekend. Even if the Bryan Herta thing crashes, he might get an opportunity for next year anyway – at Andretti’s team for example.
Ryo Hirakawa is said to make his debut for Dale Coyne in Sonoma.
German driver Lucas Luhr who currently drives in ALMS will also make his debut for SFH racing in Sonoma. Good to see driver from different countries like Germany and Italy racing in IndyCar this year.
@sushant008 Will he replace Newgarden or will SFH put a second car on the grid?
@sigman1998 Its a two car operation backed by his ALMS team Pickett Racing. The team is interested in starting its IndyCar operation in 2014 due to loss of their beloved ALMS P1 class in the new-for-2014 United SportsCar Racing Series.
Filippi and Hildebrand will share the Barracuda car previously driven by Tagliani for the rest of the season:
Filippi will be in for the Houston double-header and Baltimore, Hildebrand will
crash out drive in his home state races in Sonoma and Fontana.
‘Tagliani replaced by Filippi’ sounds like music to my ears, great news! Too bad Hildebrand’s involved though…
Poor old JR, at least Marco recovered from his last lap Indy 500 loss to win races (even if it’s only 2 in 8 years).
