IndyCar used a new system of three heats to decide the grid for the Iowa Indy 205.
Dario Franchitti took pole position after winning the third heat which set the top eight places.
The remaining places were settled by heats one to two. Video below:
Franchitti will start from pole position alongside Helio Castroneves. Row two is Marco Andretti and James Hildebrand.
Tony Kanaan and Graham Rahal would start ninth and tenth having won heats two and one respectively, but both have engine change penalties.
