And the award for cramming the most sponsor references into a race title goes to – who else? – NASCAR:

This weekend’s race at Indianapolis is officially called the Crown Royal Presents the Curtiss Shaver 400 at the Brickyard Powered By BigMachineRecords.com.

I’d be surprised but… anyone seen a race with a longer name than that?

I think I’ll stick to calling it the Brickyard 400.

if 1 title sponsor = good, 3 title sponsors = excellent! i hope they don’t interrupt the commercials with too much car racing.

Haha, even as a frequent viewer that took me by surprise. Way too many sponsors. I just call it the Brickyard (400). Looking forward to it though.

Ah, for the days when races had iconic names :C. Let’s hope Indy never sells the rights to the 500 in this way…
