Absolutely delighted for him, a heroic effort.
Great news !
What a brilliant achievement. I was jumping up and down on the sofa when he won at Oschersleben in the WTCC after his crash but this is huge.
I really, really hope he gets to drive in the Indianapolis 500 now. That would be mega.
What a hero. The man is a legend.
The guy is a true hero, genuinely one of the nicest guys in any form of sport. Aren’t like all of his competitors in the hand cycling half his age as well? Even more impressive if possible.
This is an interesting article on F1 rejects about his F1 and CART career, and why it didn’t go well for him in ’99:
They should definitely update his page to now include Paralympic gold medallist!
Inspirational, legend, hero…3 over used words in sport. Not in this case.
I just cant belive it how can he have this kind of determination? Im realy happy for him.
What a big legend… emotional win.
wow, what a racer! surely with today’s technology, a hand-operated race car can be made comparable to one with pedals, although the hands might not be up to the task ???
brilliant result for alex and so deserved!!
Would’ve loved to see him in action in the road race, which is going on as I write this – but thanks to Channel Poor’s lack of any coverage, I can’t. Thank goodness they didn’t win the rights to show F1…
Hoping for some more good Zanardi news in a little while.
He’s done it again! A second gold medal for Zanardi at the Paralympics.
That is just amazing! Is there anything he can’t do?!!
