    Keith,

    Is there a reason that the F1F website is left aligned?

    I run a 30 inch monitor and your site only takes up the left third of my monitor, giving me atrocious neck ache :)

    Any change the site could be centred, like the BBC website and similar?

    Ta,

    Matt

    Had a similar thought myself. Was all geared up for a Conservapedia-style F1 Fanatic clone being advertised on this thread. :D

    Apologies for the socialist leaning of F1 Fanatic. I’m planning to make it more centrist!

    (To avoid confusion: no I’m not talking about politics, the site layout will be centre-aligned eventually)

    The only thing that’s left-aligned about me is the direction my…

    better not go there, actually.

    If you are using Firefox and want to center the content, try this:

    Install the Firefox addon Greasemoney, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748/

    Visit this site and right click on the Monkey icon in the Firefox status bar and choose new user script.

    Enter a name, e.g. ‘Center’ and a namespace, e.g. http://example.com/test.

    In the editor add the following,

    // ==UserScript==
    // @name Center
    // @namespace http://example.com/test
    // @description test
    // @include http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/*
    // ==/UserScript==

    var c = document.getElementById('container');
    c.style.marginLeft = 'auto';
    c.style.marginRight = 'auto';

    Note the trailing * on the @include directive to include every page.

    Refresh the page and it will be centered.

    Right click the Monkey icon to disable.

    It’s centre-aligned as of today – changes haven’t been made to the forum yet, though.

    hmm, not sure I like the new design. It’s a bit plain. Makes it seem like the page has failed to load properly or something.

    Not too keen on the centre alignment either, leaves a big gap down the left hand side.

    oh well, as long as the content continues to be solid and interesting it doesn’t really matter!

    To remove the big gap effect you would need some sort of border around the main text.

    It doesn’t need to be too drastic, but a subtle change of colour would suffice.

    See the BBC front page for example.

    Agreed with Mark… The left hand side is irritating I’m afraid :(.

    That’s the only niggle I hagve with the new site, that big gray block.
