Just when I was starting to like Stoner he goes and acts like an idiot post race.
Yes, the accident was 100% Rossi’s fault and yes, maybe the marshalls helped Rossi out first because he’s, well, Rossi, but that’s hardly his fault. It was big of Rossi to go straight to Stoner after the race and apologise, but for Casey to talk down to him with all that sarcasm was just petty and I felt hugely sorry for Valentino at that point. Stuff like that happens and while Casey is right to be angry, I think when he’s calmed down a bit he’ll regret those comments.
Saying to one of the greatest sportsmen in history that his ‘ambition outweighed his talent’ is massively rich coming from a guy who’s fallen off all on his own countless times whilst leading and under no pressure.
Other than that moment it was a decent race. Of all the sports I watch, Lorenzo is my least favourite competitor but him and Dani drove superb races. Gutted for Edwards though, Simoncelli is a legend and Rossi was super impressive.
