Last weekend the oldest touring car series in the world (Guiness record, it started in 1937), Turismo Carretera, finished one of the most exciting seasons ever.
I went to the Oscar Alfredo Galvez racetrack with a friend. And I had never seen such thing before (i’ve been going to the racetrack for 15 years now…).
Imagine Istambul with this kind of crowd (quite a lot of pics… I have videos too, but they are all uploaded in my facebook account… search for me to see them @Fer Morcillo)
2 Flags covering the main 2 Chevrolet grandstands, there are a couple more at Torino’s, Dodge’s and Ford’s grandstands…
After the race finished
Potrero de los Funes will host the last race of the GT1 World Championship this weekend, along with TC2000’s last race… We deserve a place in major motorsport series…
Wow, looks amazing, especially that first picture. I bet the atmosphere there was amazing!
62 thousand people at the racetrack on Sunday. Chevrolet won the race and the championship, of course!
It’s incredible the way we shouted and cheered the guys. My voice isn’t fully recovered yet. It’s very much like a football match.
All the grandstands where completely full. The fans sing like at football, all the race long. It’s amaizing! We always experience the same each time we go, but last sunday was special…
It would be fantastic to see F1 at Potrero de los Funes!
Those flags would piss me right off.
they don’t unfold them during the race… people aren’t that stupid :P!
