Many cars nowadays can simply stop using cylinders when in a “road” or “economy” mode, that I think that’s a good solution.

If you want to learn about engines, http://automationgame.com/
Nifty game, the demo is quite fun to try :D Because of that, I actually understand the the CC is a combination of the bore and stroke of the cylinders.

Also 800BHP is a huge amount of BHP, for a road going sports car, you could easily look at half that.

Look up the Japanese Super GT series, their top level cars, the GT500, are power limited to just over 500BHP. Look up youtube videos of them to get an idea of what 500BHP is like in a racing car.

@mike The idea is to have a car that also explores track days. The engine is that one because I liked the efficiency figures: it also brings a new appeal to car, to a different group of people. The purpose of this presentation is to make a product that explores markets that lack the offer, and I’m exploring quite some of those markets. Think about it: It’s a efficient and spacious family car, with the ability to become a quick and fun sports car when on track.

    Car.

@matt90 I’d use some lighter materials to make the car lighter to compensate for the increase you have with more seats and the consequent increase in length and wheight. So the chassis would be a carbon fibre monocoque and bodywork would be made of a carbotanium, the same material Pagani used to make the Huayra.

I’d like to make it more accessible than normal sports cars, so I’d follow McLaren and go with mass production to make costs lower.
