Search for “JMLatvalafan” on YT – excellent wall to wall coverage of events, and season reviews from years past. Here’s his channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/WRCforeva
Unlike FOM, North One didn’t care about WRC footage being uploaded on YT, in fact they actively encouraged it with their own channel.

Congrats to JM Latvala, and especially Ostberg – 2nd last year, 3rd this year, he’s only got to get 1st next year! Loeb recovered a little with a win on the Power stage IMO.

Really good rally, I think that the organisers should be commended after the chaos over the past few weeks about TV etc – a very well organised, exciting rally.

Yea, Loeb was definitely saving himself for the Power Stage. He cleared it 5s faster than anyone else I think. Fortunately for him, no Rally 2 in Monte Carlo affords him a 13 points gap over Latvala right now.

    Thanks for the YouTube link.

Thought I’d just share some footage I liked.

Latvala helicopter shot from 12:07 onwards, sublime!

I’ll revive this thread to talk about the WRC Fafe Rally Sprint. It’s coming to an end as I speak and I’ll post a video here as soon as I find one.

Some of the drivers who will take part in the Rally de Portugal took part in this Rally Sprint, which was held at the Fafe – Lameirinha special, a special stage which is part of the history of the WRC in Portugal. Thousands were there to watch the cars go by and drivers like Petter Solberg and Sebastien Loeb hailed the fans, saying that the Rally should get back to the north of Portugal, where it really began.

EDIT: According to the organisation of the Rally Sprint, 80000 spectators were spread across the less than 7 km course. Impressive, hein!?

I can’t say that i’m particularly familiar with the history of the WRC but it looks like the numbers speak for themselves regarding the level of spectators, wow.

Here’s the first of two videos. In this one you can watch the cars. the ones that spun did it on purpose.

In this one you can hear the crowd doing as much noise as the football fans do in a stadium. Just feel the atmosphere. The true rally fans are the portuguese ones. From the North.

Most Rallies would kill to have as many spectators overall that the Fafe RallySprint had.. OBC from Loeb is below – I forgot what a classic stage Fafe is!

Those are some great videos folks, especially that first one @joao-pedro-cq About 1:30 in Petter just hits that corner PERFECTLY. Mesmerising.

The atmosphere looks like nothing I’ve seen at a rally before.
