    Yes, Williams would be a good candidate for Honda engines
    @gumbidave
    Re VW, it’s really VW group, agree that a VW F1 makes llittle sense; they (Porsche and Audi) have the upmost racing expertise, but Lamborghini seems to be growing as well and was part of F1 with V12 engines, many years ago
    As Ferrari, Alfa is owned by Fiat, so they would rather be in other categories in motorsports, not F1

    Although Americans love motorsports, it’s interesting how F1 is not yet their passion…NASCAR and INDY are far ahead….this makes less likely that the big three would have much interest in F1, although Ford has the potential….but world economy does not help at the moment

    Smaller teams would be nice, but again they have to be more competitive than HRT was, or Marussia and Catherham are doing. Not easy with current costs of hundreds of millions $….

    @Prisoner Monkeys
    Also agree, good point….
    If they ever decide to comeback, which teams would be the candidates for Honda engines? McLaren itself? Maybe Lotus? Would Honda want to go only with the “back of the grid” teams?

    Agree with Prisoner Monkeys regarding latest Honda F1 performance, but as Michael says, this is more like what I would like to see rather than what will happen…anyway Honda has the potential and tech resources, much more than the current small teams.
    Most part of their ex-F1 team, including the plant site itself, is now working only on development of future electric cars. Maybe we will see only some nice V6 turbos, not the cars, reminding the 1988 (?) 1,5 L qualifying version with 1000 + HP….

    Who ever they are, it has to be a 1st class, high tech and competitive team or teams; no one misses HRT and there is no excitement, at least yet, on Caterham or Marussia. VW Group (Porsche/Audi/Lamborghini ) would be very welcome, as well as Honda
