    Sorry, arrived, no arribed

    #246822

When Sergio arribed to McLaren, did so only with Claro support. Claro payed for his salary and no more. So Sergio went to Woking only on his own talent.

Now, Telmex is supporting him an this mean about 15 millions dollars in sponsorship, which is not that big now a days in F1.

A think that FI gets more resorces than they could get signing Sergio by his own becouse of McLaren’s support to Checo’s deal with them, I mean, McLaren transference of technology and technical support worts more than telmex sponsorship itself, at the end they got a great and young driver and a twiece the support they could get.

Everybody knew what british press issued about that particular problem, but in any way this could denies the existence of the Spanish campaign, I think. And, i have to say, that campaign was based in lies, mainly, and fanciful interpretations of isolated facts.

In the other hand, ofcourse Alonso has disregarded Sebastian’s success; every time he said “well he won, great, but he has the best car” he is doing so, and he did so many times…, and, again, when he praised Romain’s work, inmediatly he said too, “it was becouse of tires” sad, but true.

This could be easily constated in press reports already published in many languages.

I would say two issues speaks cleary about this question.

First, there were a huge communication media campaign in Spain, and other parts, that support Alonso’s results and questioned Hamilton’s work.

Fernando behavior shows by itself that he has experienced a big impact about that particular season, and still doing so, I mean, actually every time he has to speak about Sebastian’s success he attempt to discredit his work giving a simply explanation about it, explaining it just based on RedBull superiority and, another example, just as he sayd about Hulkenberg’s performance, saying it was based only on Pirelli’s “change”. The same was on that 2007.

By the way, I would say that no one pilot is faster than his car, that is impossible. There are better pilots than other, and they can get better performance of that specific car, but based on mechanics and fisics, no one pilot could made faster the car than it could be by itself. So, if he, Fernando, got that results this last seasons was becouse he has a good enough car to did so.

There are not any reason, sportive nor ethical, to do so. It is only matter of commercial strategy to reinforce and keep fans interest until the last season’s date.

Every day, this actual F1 looks more to NASCAR than to F1, as it used to be, the sport racing top activity. Bernie you are killing F1!

Many people says PDVESA-lotus deal it’s done, I am not sure of that. At the biginning of last week it looks like that but not now, Lotus directives are giving more time to the other offer they have specting to get Nico Hulkenberg. Maldonado’s last tongue show was very impressive for many people including Boulliers, so I am pretty sure he is re thinking about his choice.

As for today, I really have not read any signal about Perez’s future. In today’s note, Martin Whitmarsh have said that McLaren has two cleavers guys on wheels, and that McLarane will have next year, so, I understood they are going to continue, both, in the team. I think this has been a very interesting market strategy for Magnussen in order to get him a seat in a secondary team for next year. But, really do not make any sense to bring a junior to a top ten team in a season that would deserve so many surprises both, technical and reglamentary.
