@royal-spark ahh, excellent! The number of corners a proper racing circuit should have. None of this 25 corner rubbish!

The Rebellion definitely sounded the most proper of the LMP’s. Shook your guts every time it went past. The Aston was definitely the pick of the GT noises. Low and guttural. The BMW Z4 in the ELMS the day before also sounded very similar.

Luxembourg. But actually this time inside Luxembourg. About 30km north of the capital, just outside the village of Colmar-Berg (the location of Goodyear Tyres manufacturing and testing facility).

Clockwise, 5.6km (3.5 miles) The first sector is most medium-speed constant radius corner that ends wil a long, long sweeper. The middle sector is very fast with short-sharp kinks and a long straight, and the final sector has a fair few switch backs and quick left-rights, ending with a good ol’ chicane

Hopefully a lot more of the Race Driver series which left us almost 10 years ago, and a lot lot less of the Grid series which, although only has 2 installments, has been rather naff. Even the first one is only really good for the demolition derby events.

    But we shall see…

    Here’s mine:

About 5.5km, anti-clockwise. Built in the Middle East (obviously). Mostly flat. Long straights and chicanes in the first half, pointless corner after pointless corner in the second half, all shoehorned in around a marina and buildings for the sole purpose of looking nice.

Turn 1 & 2 is the new Abbey at Silverstone. I’ve kept to the tarmac (mostly) as thats how I like to do airport circuits. Lots of sweeping corners, some of which are acceleration zones. Changing radii. Keeps it interesting.

    Only 3 entries? Ahh well.

@qingwa – You demolished several buildings and ran the circuit up the steep slope of a dam. Don’t think that would work, really.

@npf1 – I like yours the best. Fits the criteria, nice layout. You win.

Hmmmm… A date mid-way between Argentina in January, and 2 US dates in March.

All circuits are in city centres. Might they run here, perhaps. Maybe as a dry run for holding a major international motor racing event at some point later that year/the year after?

    Woo! Ta very much @andae23

In readyness for their F1 World Championship assault next season*, Gene Haas needs a testing circuit built, and quick!

Stewart-Haas – Mr Haas’s latest of many motorsport teams over the years – are based here, on the western limits of Kannapolis, north of Charoltte, North Carolina. Lets assume that’s where his F1 operation will be based as well. The brief is to build a circuit suitable for hosting private tests (I know those aren’t allowed, but whatever, doesn’t matter) for a Formula 1 car. Bear in mind that this is for testing a car, not for multiple cars racing, so the circuit doesn’t have to conform to any FIA length requirements, and must contain lots of different corner types to evaluate the performance and handling of a car (think Fiorano, Bedford Autodrome, Dunsfold, and various proving grounds around the world.

The circuit must be within a few miles of the shores of the Don T. Howell Reservoir (just to the east of the Steward-Haas facility). You can deforest, you can buy land from farms, but don’t use any existing main roads, or demolish anything that looks like a home or place of work.

Contest will end when the chequered flag falls at the end of the IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday evening. Go!

The new Grand Prix Circuit is about 3.75km long, clockwise, includes an all new start/finish straight, pit lane, and a brand new 2.5km opening half.

Also included in the design is the National Circuit which uses the new start/finish straight and the first half of the circuit before turning back to the start/finish straight at around 2.5km. Also there’s the Club Circuit which follows the route of the current circuit, albeit with a nice new club pit & paddock.

The right/left/right swoop before the 3km marker is not used in the full Grand Prix Circuit, only the Club Circuit.

IndyCar, TUSC and the Pirelli World Challenge all in the same place on one weekend.

Almost makes me want to live in LA.

I was never entirely convinced they ever really did anything apart from cobble together a couple of showroom concept cars.

@juan-pablo-heidfeld-1 @magnificent-Geoffrey I still say Grand Prix Manager 2 is far better than Grand Prix World. Plus there’s a decent modding community out there who have essentially updated the game every season for the past 15 years.

I assume they’re doubling the price of the tickets?
