Ok, It’s a little longer than the rules permit… but tell me that doesn’t look like Le Mans4th March 2014, 8:55 at 8:55 am #250754
Beautiful. If you like grey and white. Apparently viewed above down all those straight lines spell out the middle section of that “Porsche Intelligent Performance” sponsor on the side.
The shape of the car is very nice, though.1st March 2014, 18:48 at 6:48 pm #250454
@magnificent-geoffrey I wish we could have a ‘Race 14′ for this new WTCC season. As good as Race 07 is, it is pretty dated now.
It doesn’t bother me in the slightest that it’s dated. It’s immensely fun, far more so than I was having on GT6, especially with a bunch of others.
Either way, there is a Race 14, it goes by the name of RaceROom Racing Experience. They recently showed a video of the coming soon multiplayer option, complete with a 2013 WTCC grid. Looks brilliant.28th February 2014, 8:24 at 8:24 am #250128
14 and 20? Whats the significance behind those numbers?21st February 2014, 13:34 at 1:34 pm #249354
I know next to nothing about NASCAR. How come this looked like a race if it was practice? To they practice running in packs? Is that what this was?20th February 2014, 12:24 at 12:24 pm #249206
Surely all F1 cars are rare? There’s only 3 or 4 per team per season!
Save your £40 and spend it on a weekend at the Silverstone WEC round instead!8th February 2014, 1:05 at 1:05 am #220669
Clockwise, starting and ending in Nanto Womma on a purpose built section of track and pitlane, about 5km long, and taking in the northern portion of the ring road.8th February 2014, 0:50 at 12:50 am #248585
The stream works in the UK too. It’s also on http://www.radiolemans.com
Just watched qualifying and the 2 support races (run what you brung production cars and the Radicals) Brilliant action from a beautiful, technical and incredibly unforgiving circuit. The battle between the Holden and the old Celica for the lead in that production race had me on the edge of my seat. And not a DRS or double point in sight.
Mika Salo is on provisional pole in a Ferrari F458 Italia for the main event, I do believe.6th February 2014, 12:41 at 12:41 pm #248520
There’s a wonderful new beer you can buy in support…3rd February 2014, 14:13 at 2:13 pm #212836
Hi all, it’s been a while since this thread has been active, but with a new year I thought I’d give it a bump to see if anyone was interested.
We’ve started to expand our horizons slightly in the club, and have ventured into the world of sim racing on the PC. We’ve just finished our first season using WTCC Race 07, which although a tad long-in-the-tooth now, is still great fun and has provided us with some brilliant racing so far.
It’s also really easy to make videos from, which we’ve done with full race edits with commentary as you can see here:
We’re still racing on Forza Motorsport, although we’re still on Xbox 360. No plans to jump to Forza 5 what with its rather lacklustre selection of tracks and online options.
Anyway, if there’s anyone here on F1Fanatic (where the entire concept of this club began) who races on the PC (Race 07, currently) or on Xbox360 and wishes to join in, you’re more than welcome to!28th January 2014, 10:40 at 10:40 am #235832
@bradley13 Unfortunately it’s not just something you install, Mediawiki is a wiki package designed to run on a website. So to work it you will need:
1 – Somewhere to host it (a server)
2 – a domain address the server can be found using (eg: F1FVirtualGrandPrixChampionship.com)
3 – someone who knows what they’re doing to set it all up for you.
All that will cost money and take time, and I’m guessing that’s not exactly what you’re looking for. In which case I can suggest http://www.wikia.com. It’s essentially the same as the shoutwiki you’re using now, but owned by the MediaWiki people. Might be a better bet for you guys if shoutwiki is causing you issues?27th January 2014, 15:22 at 3:22 pm #242266
@andae23 You mean the exciting young talents in GP2, GP3, FR2.0, FR3.5 or F3 who quickly become F1 rejects? :-D
They’re all too busy aiming for the stars anyway. I’m sure at this point they’d see Formula E as a sideways or even a downward step for them. Plenty of those ‘rejects’ still have a lot of racing to give, I’m sure. Just because F1 couldn’t handle them…26th January 2014, 23:42 at 11:42 pm #23582926th January 2014, 10:53 at 10:53 am #248265
Race has been really good so far. It’s been strange to see the GT cars matching and sometimes even bettering the prototypes for straight-line speed on the banking, with the prototypes having to get their overtaking done on the infield. Shame that some of the more interesting entries fell by the wayside throughout the night. The Deltawing has been in and out of the pits and seems to have dropped a long way back, Jan Magnussen’s Corvette is no longer in the race, as is one of the Mazda LMP’s.
Sounds as if the two drivers involved in the massive shunt that red flagged the race are both awake and alert. which is always good news, goes without saying.
