Alec Glen commented on the post, Monaco “still a daunting place”, says Webber 1 day, 4 hours ago
I’m not trying to be offensive but that point of view just says “loser” to me. Having the desire and drive to win and be successful’s an important part of a person’s makeup. It’s that desire to be excellent that […]

@seahorse
It’s an apple vs an orange for sure but there’s a reason they’re apples and oranges, there’s meant to be a big step between them.I don’t care much for Merc but I don’t think it makes for great […]

@joshua-mesh
If that’s the case then why stop at comedy tyres? Let’s take the cars on a proper world championship including comedy tracks like Lake Baikal in Siberia and the Sahara Desert. Bernie clearly doesn’t […] -

They are indeed although there’s a natural allure to F1 in that it should be the fastest and most technically advanced form of racing. Comedy tyres meant that 55/66 of the pole sitter’s race laps were […]

And allowing the fastest car/driver combination to win the championship is somehow bad?
I’m no homer but I watch Top Gear to see how far cars can go on one tank of fuel or a set of tyres, their drivers are […]

So we’re keeping the quick-to-degrade compounds but going back to the rounder structure of last year which had a knife-edge operating temperature window? So on top of the degradation teams are going to have to […]

Alec Glen commented on the post, Ecclestone bribe case decision due 1 week, 2 days ago
Spot on about the Buxton article, I couldn’t read all of it as it was annoying the crap out of me. I don’t think Pirelli have got it horribly wrong either, for me it was just a bad race where they could’ve done […]

I took a look yesterday and I think the GP2 pole time was quicker than 55 of Rosberg’s 66 laps, it’s ridiculous.
Good quote from Button, I’d not seen that anywhere up to now.

Alec Glen commented on the post, Pirelli keen to avoid claim of Red Bull favouritism 1 week, 3 days ago
It’s a good job we’re not going to Turkey this year as Turn 8 would have made mincemeat out of this year’s compounds looking at the trouble teams had at Turn 3 yesterday.

Alec Glen commented on the post, Brawn: Mercedes need to improve race pace 3 weeks, 1 day ago
All the cars lunch their tyres, the key thing is how much perfomance they can get compared to lunching them. Clearly Merc get lots of performance whilst lunching them whereas Red Bull can get slightly less […]

Alec Glen commented on the post, Porsche chose Le Mans over F1 for “road relevance” 1 month ago
One thing to remember when we’re talking about KERS and how relevant it is to manufacturers; KERS is essentially ancient tech, much simpler than what was on the original Prius and something McLaren dabbled with in […]

Alec Glen commented on the post, Porsche chose Le Mans over F1 for “road relevance” 1 month ago
It makes sense for any manufacturer bar Ferrari who are the only one who still makes cars/keyrings to be able to go racing. Everyone else’s primary business is selling cars and there’s simply no value in spending […]

Alec Glen commented on the post, Is 3D or Ultra HD the future of F1 broadcasting? 2 months, 3 weeks ago
1080p would be a good start and we wouldn’t need to buy a new tv for that.
I think better camera work would also help as the shots we get seem to be exactly the same as they were 20 years ago just in higher […]

Not if he’s caused an unnecessary collision, there’s plenty of precedent.

Alec Glen commented on the post, Double penalty for Maldonado after jump start and crash 8 months, 3 weeks ago
If he had got a drive through for it straight away he’d have been put at the back of the field so in that sense he’s actually came off quite lightly and they can’t not punish it because he didnt finish this race […]

Alec Glen commented on the post, Maldonado drops to sixth as Raikkonen avoids penalty 8 months, 3 weeks ago
I think the right punishment would have been a warning as it didnt knock Nico out of the session although I seem to think people have had 5 place drops for less recently. My guess is they didnt give him the […]
