Andrew81 replied to the forum topic How did Button end up ahead of Perez in Spain? in the group
F1 1 week, 4 days agoI was going to respond, but after reading your final sentence there’s clearly no point. If you’re just going to ignore anything which doesn’t fit your opinion then there’s no point in debating the issue with you.

F1 1 week, 4 days ago@Kingshark
How can you say that Hamilton wouldn’t have won if Kovalainen had defended? He passed Massa and Piquet just fine without team orders and took the lead with eight laps to spare. Kovalainen defending at […] -
Andrew81 commented on the post, DRS and tyres: Has F1 got the balance right? 3 weeks, 1 day ago
The thing about driver vs. driver racing is, it sounds like a great thing to aim for, but it’s an abstract notion that has never been consistently achieved. Sure, you can go through highlights reels and find […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, DRS and tyres: Has F1 got the balance right? 3 weeks, 1 day ago
People who think DRS has ruined the sport really ought to go back and watch a whole race from 2010 or before. Drivers got within 2 seconds and then couldn’t do anything, even if they were 1-2 seconds per lap […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Thailand GP track route confirmed for 2015 race 4 weeks, 1 day ago
I agree, I like the simplicity of it. Pretty much every new track in the last decade has had a mixture of fast corners, slow corners and long straights and it’s getting boring. I like that this circuit has gone […]

Yes, that’s true.

Andrew81 commented on the post, Alonso’s 31st victory puts him level with Mansell 1 month, 1 week ago
The total time of the race was only 0.016s longer than last year.
Three drivers from three different teams have now won at the start of the year. On average, this happens once every four years, but it is the […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Vettel: “I don’t apologise for winning” in Malaysia 1 month, 2 weeks ago
To you and the other person who said something similar, both cars were managing tyres and other variables. Vettel was capable of going quicker and said so on the radio, but Webber was also capable of going quicker […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Vettel: “I don’t apologise for winning” in Malaysia 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Very strange comments from Vettel. He says he is sorry for putting himself above the team, but then says he isn’t sorry for winning, which was the direct product of doing that. Are you sorry or not, Sebastian? […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Di Resta feels “robbed of seventh place” 2 months, 1 week ago
People saying Sutil performed much better than di Resta here are actually mistaken. It was di Resta who performed better in qualifying and got into Q3, but this meant he had to start on the super soft tyre. As we […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Hamilton: Vettel “luckiest driver in F1″ after podium 6 months, 3 weeks ago
I don’t think it’s this site in particular, though it’s disappointing that the BBC article was the headline article of the round-up. Just reading the top-rated comments on that article show the real picture. […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Red Bull reveal interactive 360-degree video of their F1 car in action 6 months, 3 weeks ago
Surely this is much better than the cameras in Indycar? This captures the entire 360 degrees in real time, so, in theory, it could be operated freely by any viewer, rather than just the director, as it is in Indycar.

Andrew81 commented on the post, The facts of Vettel’s crushing superiority 6 months, 4 weeks ago
@ajokay The reason I misinterpreted you was because you counted Senna. His lap wasn’t faster than Button, so it wasn’t the fastest lap when he crossed the line. Going by your definition, only three drivers set the […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, The facts of Vettel’s crushing superiority 6 months, 4 weeks ago
I did a quick search… Britain 2010 had eight drivers set their fastest laps on the last lap, including Alonso who set the fastest lap of the […]

Andrew81 commented on the post, Vettel extends his advantage in second practice 7 months ago
Race pace won’t matter much. It looked fairly close on race pace at Korea, but Red Bull locked out the front row and were able to control the race from there. The same looks likely here.

Andrew81 commented on the post, Vettel leads 145 laps in a row – and counting 7 months, 1 week ago
Very interesting, I would have expected some permutations to have happened more often. I would certainly expect VET, WEB, ALO to happen again at some point.

Webber became the eleventh different driver to set fastest lap this year, giving 2012 the outright record.
Vettel, Webber and Alonso joined each other on the podium for the second time this year, the first […]

Felipe Massa has outscored Alonso in the last five races, while Vettel has scored twice as many points as the Spaniard in the same period.
Hamilton got into Q3 for the 50th consecutive time. The last time he […]
