Thats a measuring device to measure the airflow around the car. They probably work like the pitot tubes on aircraft. Tells the team if the aero devices they are using are working as they should. Not just Ferrari […]

Or was the nature of Lewis’s impact such that the panel did not detach?

Its a pitot tube I believe. Like the ones found on aircraft.

Like make the DRS much like the KERS system. Drivers may use it a set number of times per lap or for a set amount of time. That would make it exciting.

Look closer… Each number has small black text describing its significance… For e.g. the number 19 has Turns below it referring to the 19 turns on the Monaco circuit.

Or maybe have a slightly different background colour for the Grand Prix entry in the table.
