Definitely suggest arriving on Thursday, if not Wednesday – means you’re all setup ready for the action from Friday morning. It’s also good to soak up as much of the atmosphere as possible. I’ve been camping at Silverstone for the last five British GPs – take sunscreen, waterproofs, a cheap bbq, cool box, beers and portable radio(s) for tuning into Radio Silverstone. If you’re sitting in a grandstand, don’t expect to get a good 3G signal on your smart device – radios work really well and ensure you don’t miss a thing!
On a side note, I can recommend some of the camping packages that IntentsGP offer, used them a couple of times – great bunch of people and the setup is just fantastic – takes the hassle out of camping (possibly call it ‘glamping’ !?)
Hello, I’m Adam, founder and editor of BadgerGP.com – the lovely Grand Prix Webzine. Been an F1 fan since ’91 and have been running BadgerGP since 2008, it’s good fun and has opened many doors that I never thought possible. Met Keith a few times at media shindigs, top bloke.
