And then we wonder why we get “no comment” type reactions on questions. Boo Indycar. We saw this rule misused in F1 too often under Max Mosley, certainly not looking forward to seeing that happen in the US.28th February 2015, 12:24 at 12:24 pm #293202
Hm, I guess its nice watching the scantily clad women in the video for the middle aged men that chose this (Agag etc), but its really not doing any good for the Formula E series IMO.
The music misses a gripping theme melody or beat, the text is completely forgettable and I must say that the imagery really isn’t anything the sport should be proud of. Maybe they saw “dangerous” and thought they’d have something made to look a bit like it but on the cheap? Don’t know, but I really hope not to see this one again.26th January 2015, 13:51 at 1:51 pm #290814
From the 2015 season onwards free to air Nova and its pay TV sister channel will not show F1 anymore, ending FtA F1 coverage on Czech TV (and Slowak TV). The rights have been bought by Sport TV with channels Sport1/Sport2 (3 year contract).
Also included in the planned coverage is supposed to be coverage of GP2/GP3.
I must say that I haven’t been able to find how much it costs, and not even whether its just on offer through cable/satelite and O2digitalTV. I will update if I find anything about that.
Ok, so O2TV currently offer internet TV for 798 CZK/month – cca. 346 EUR/yr (or 299 (cca. 130 EUR/yr) if you already have internet from O2) and they offer you a choice of two “packages” included (choices are HBO, Sport, style, documentaries, children, …) presumably for new customers. As far as I know (haven’t looked at it now, but considered it a year or so back) you get a minimum of 24 months contract.
O2 also offer O2 to Go for mobile devices, but I am not sure F1 is included for those in any package.
Not sure how / where to order it for Sattelite.3rd July 2014, 15:50 at 3:50 pm #265235
No prizes for who I voted for
Didn’t know you could vote for Montoya too! :-P3rd July 2014, 9:03 at 9:03 am #265188
Especially as the infringements are with “fuel tank capacity” that might really have been critical in allowing them to win. Not a good penalty.
On a different not, why does it take almost a week? Here we were complaining why it took the stewards until hours after the race to decide Ricciardo was disqualified for Australia, and this is 4 days after the weekend, 5 days since the race was won.3rd July 2014, 7:53 at 7:53 am #265181
Hm, interesting discussion about sport / entertainment and fan boost. I agree with you on the purity of sport side Keith as well as on the fallacy of the “it won’t make much of a difference anyhow” argument (why then vote if its of no consequence!). On the other hand, I am interested in FE, and while having FanBoost in there means that this definitely comes under sports-entertainment rather than sports as such, I think its fine if they try it as such.
It might mean people getting more interested in motorsports because of seeing this show on, so I guess that is a positive.1st July 2014, 9:27 at 9:27 am #264973
The voting page is a bit strange, unless it looks better on phone, having them 2 next to each other and having to scroll down is a bit awkward for me.
I did put in my vote (Jaime A. for now), I guess this is going to be a bit of Motorsportshow reality TV, let’s hope it brings fans in for real motorsport too over time.8th April 2014, 15:15 at 3:15 pm #256015
As it seems the company has never really produced a single car to be delivered to a customer, it was always likely to end. As for their involvement at Marussia – I think we already saw a bit of the money not being there at the end of last year, I am not sure it changes much for the team short time. But longer term, it certainly does give them something else to worry about – or maybe they can contact a certain Mr. Haas and offer to work together?27th March 2014, 11:06 at 11:06 am #254045
So, should we take the wheel arches with the headlights as something of a front wing sideplate? Seems both this and the Porsche have them pretty much straight up at the front and with a tapering back.13th March 2014, 9:58 at 9:58 am #251901
When it looks like the most “interesting” parts are going to be the 4 roundabouts on there, Its certain that an opportunity for an exciting track was missed.
Let us just hope that the track will be lined with enthusiastic fans to make up for it and still make a nice event out of FormulaE4th March 2014, 9:27 at 9:27 am #250763
from images they showed earlier (see Racecar Engineering) its pretty clear that its a V4 @ardenflo (see r)4th March 2014, 9:05 at 9:05 am #250758
Ah, although it still doesn’t say V4 om there, just a 4 cylinder!4th March 2014, 8:30 at 8:30 am #250744
Hm, not the most interesting looking LMP1 car I have seen in the last 2-3 years, and the livery? Up to par with the Sauber of 2 years back, no win there either. LEts now hope they do go fast and get that one settled!
No Keith, can’t find any official part where the V4 is confirmed either.15th February 2014, 13:34 at 1:34 pm #248693
Great to see its back up and has the format buttons working!5th February 2014, 14:36 at 2:36 pm #246433
While I have my reservations about having a race in Bahrain, I think that for a location like this, where daytime heat is too much to have a relaxing time and also with Sunday being a normal weekday it makes great sense to host the event in the evening when it will be more accessible for local people.
