I’m English, but I used to support Ferrari and Michael Schumacher, until he retired (which made me sad); I really didn’t like McLaren at all.
Then Hamilton arrived and, after seeing how he performed in his first few races, got my full support ever since. When Button finally joined McLaren, it started a huge turnaround for me, where I started hugely supporting McLaren…
As you can imagine, I’ve never quite liked Alonso, him being rivals to Schumacher and Hamilton, but definitely not because he isn’t English. Although, I’m starting to like him more to be honest.
In conclusion, I think who you support is based on a driver’s nationality, skill, performance and his nature as a person.
