5th September 2017, 7:50 at 7:50 am #349447cduk_mugelloParticipantSo only a few weeks to the race but the timetable isn’t yet confirmed… I was wondering about support races etc. Can’t seem to find any news…

Thanks for your advice, I booked tickets in the main grandstand on the sepang circuit website. Really excited now!
And to answer your earlier question I’m not from Mugello but I do have distant relatives over there :)
24th February 2014, 23:50 at 11:50 pm #249721cduk_mugelloParticipantI’m going with Mika Hakkinen (in my dreams) :D
5th July 2013, 14:05 at 2:05 pm #238485cduk_mugelloParticipantThe 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix is an interesting one. Raikkonen led and crashed (something you may have overlooked), handing the lead to Alonso who then had a wheel nut problem (something you acknowledge).
In this case, Raikkonen retired from, or lost, the lead 7 times due to both mechanical and ‘non-mechanical non-driver’ issues (rather than 6).
15th June 2012, 23:15 at 11:15 pm #203519cduk_mugelloParticipantI think when looking at Schumacher in 2012, you’ve really got to look at it in context. The equivalent would be Ayrton Senna racing in 2003.
When you look at it like that, it’s remarkable that Schumacher is still driving so well, and still has so much apparent motivation. I don’t want him to retire. If I wanted him to retire it would be circa Canada 2010, but even then I didn’t want him to retire because watching an F1 race with Schumacher in it makes it infinitely more exciting for me, whether he comes first or last.
7th May 2012, 0:14 at 12:14 am #201260cduk_mugelloParticipantThere’s only a couple of races in the past few of years that deserve legendary status – Canada 2011 and Brazil 2008.
As for my own personal favourite race, Nurburgring 1999 has to be up there. It had everything. Frentzen led, went out. Coulthard led, went out. Fisichella led, went out. Ralf Schumacher led, got a puncture. The Ferrari pit crew couldn’t find a tyre for Irvine. Even poor old Luca Badoer retired just a few laps away from 4th place in a Minardi.
If you’re too young to have seen that race, get it watched! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8205498.stm
17th March 2012, 8:39 at 8:39 am #196016cduk_mugelloParticipantI really enjoyed BBC coverage, but Sky’s has been excellent so far. A few downsides, Damon Hill being most of them. The guy was boring when they used him in 2002, you’d think that they’d learn!
2nd December 2011, 19:48 at 7:48 pm #186464cduk_mugelloParticipantBest – The moment I realised it was Schumi ahead of Kobayashi/Massa in Canada
– Webber’s overtake on Alonso
– Seeing Schumacher v Hamilton at Monza
– The tension of the Monaco Grand Prix (before the red flag)Worst – Schumacher having his podium finish taken away by DRS in Canada
1st December 2011, 0:15 at 12:15 am #186414cduk_mugelloParticipantBreak onto the old banking at Monza is a definite
29th November 2011, 0:15 at 12:15 am #186228cduk_mugelloParticipant1. M Schumacher
2. Alonso
3. Vettel
4. Raikkonen
5. Button
6. Hakkinen
7. Hamilton
8. Massa
9. R Schumacher
10. Montoya28th November 2011, 11:52 at 11:52 am #186219cduk_mugelloParticipant@Todfod I can’t believe you’ve put Hamilton ahead of Schumacher on your list. Am I missing something? How can you possibly begin to quantify that!?
27th November 2011, 12:02 at 12:02 pm #175649cduk_mugelloParticipantAbove all else, it just seems petty. Okay, a few people have decided to defect. They’re still working for the BBC today though!
