colinf commented on the post, Alonso hits back with home win 1 week, 3 days ago
Again, an INCREDIBLE first few corners from Fernando. He has demonstrated time and time again that he is probably the best raw racer on the track right now and easily one of the all time greats. I kind of like […]

colinf commented on the post, Kovalainen doesn’t want to be a pay driver 6 months ago
Joe Saward had a very insightful piece where he did the math and showed how non-pay drivers really need to rack up quite a lot of points to make up for the money that pay drivers can guarantee straight away.

Alonso does everything right: finishes second.
Vettel starts last, hits cars at the back of the grid a few times and runs into a sign: finishes third.
Does anyone else feel like that isn’t right?

I think once Martin Brundle said something about how karting is so great for teaching drivers spacial awareness and how exactly to position your car on the track.
Maybe Ro Gro needs more of that?
THe fact […]

colinf commented on the post, Should drivers get grid drops for gearbox changes? 8 months ago
The problem with docking the team points or any of the other suggestions is that those are penalties which cannot be overcome.
F1 is a team sport and the driver is totally dependent on the team, so to serve a […]

colinf commented on the post, Did Vettel deserve penalty for Alonso move? 8 months, 2 weeks ago
Many of the incidents that you refer to were from last year before they clarified the rule.
Regarding Di Resta and Senna, Senna wasn’t very far along side, from what I saw, and it was WAY on the outside line at […]

colinf commented on the post, 2012 half-term driver rankings #2: Lewis Hamilton 9 months, 1 week ago
How is Lewis rated so much higher than Ma Quebba? Lewis has had arguably one of, if not, the fastest overall car of the season and in spite of being near the front of the grid more often than not, he still lays […]

colinf commented on the post, Hamilton says personal life is key to improved form 9 months, 1 week ago
@xeroxpt I used Alonso as an example because he has clearly pushed hard every single year and gotten very respectable results even when the car was simply not there. He has also CLEARLY committed his entire life […]

colinf commented on the post, Hamilton says personal life is key to improved form 9 months, 1 week ago
This is not the first time that Lewis has made such a comment. It seems to be a frequent “issue” for him. I think more and more, Hamilton just doesn’t have the right stuff in him to be a multi-champion. Look at […]

Well, if you take Di Resta’s side to be factual, than Hamilton Sr. lied to him in what would appear to be an attempt to pocket more cash.

Then why has Alonso struggled so much in qualifying? He’s clearly flat out on his laps and well on it…

But by every conceivable objective measure, Ferrari ARE NOT the quickest car at the moment. I think they are just being realistic. Also, one does not have to dig deep at all to understand that Alonso has punched […]
