I’ve got a mate that puts bumpers on cars, so he could be our head mechanic. Plus my Uncle’s in the carbon fibre business. So we’re half way to a Formula 1 car already! :)

As you can see I need to be made Financial Director of this new team. And I’d like to a driver as well if possible. If not I’ll settle for Team Boss

I admire your ambition. I think expecting to be able to buy a team out right and run it is pretty unrealistic if not impossible. However… just a modest sponsorship deal…

OK i know we’re joking in this thread. But just humour me for a second – how much would a season long sponsorship be for a rear wing advertisement, or engine cover or something of a small team? Crowd-sourcing can go a LONG way. I’d be willing to chip in a tenner :P

We could have ‘F1 Fanatic Fans’ as the advert, the letters made up from minuscule writing of all our names. How friggin COOL would that be – plus advertisement for this site. If everyone gave a tenner we could get there in no time!

Fair comparison, but is it Vettel who deserves credit for sticking with the unproven Red Bull or was he contractually obliged to? But I agree. I think the only way people will start properly rating Vettel as a world class driver is when he is given a world champion team mate. That would be the best test of all and something to relish.

Despite that I can’t see how anyone can win 4 world titles and not be considered a truly fantastic driver. He’s not the only one driving that Red Bull, afterall.

After 112 races, they both have the same number of wins are within 7 points of each other under the old point system. That’s eerily similar.

I found the 60s the most difficult too, not too hot on F1 history that far back.

Good to hear, can’t really see the race being boycotted, even if NK restart their pointless rhetoric

After watching Top Gear, how was this thread not called ‘Top Gear spotted filming with F1 cars on the Mall, in London’??
