They had two extra sets of tyres, in addition to the normal sets they have for Fridays, prototypes of what they’ve used this year. They may […]

Mads commented on the post, Penalty points system for drivers moves a step closer 2 weeks ago
@crr917
If a driver is late to the drivers briefing, 12 times then he needs to have someone take a look at his watch.
The drivers briefing is something that is necessary for the safety of them selves, the […] -
Robbie commented on the post, Penalty points system for drivers moves a step closer 2 weeks ago
@crr917 Hmmm….well it is certainly easier for a driver in F1 to control his pit lane speed or his attendance record at a driver meeting than it is for a nuclear power plant to react to a Tsunami, or for them to […]

AdrianMorse commented on the post, Moss doubts women have “mental aptitude” for F1 1 month, 1 week ago
@crr917, I agree, I remember Whitmarsh asking for tyres that would give our engineers a headache, or something. A more problematic point is this:
I prefer it when Formula One is a sprint from stop to stop. I’d […]

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, ‘F1 is an auction’ says Alguersuari after missing drive 3 months ago
@crr917 – Sometimes you see a driver, and you just know that he will one day race in Formula 1, and that going through the feeder series is simply a formality. Drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Antonio Felix da […]

Max Jacobson commented on the post, ‘F1 is an auction’ says Alguersuari after missing drive 3 months ago
@crr917 – I usually measure drivers on potential: if a rookie has good results in the lower categories he has lots of potential, whereas an “old hand” doesn’t have much potential to progress from where they are, […]

@crr917 Okay, that last point is maybe less relevant for this discussion. Would be nice though, wheelspin at 300kph! :)

@crr917, I’m sure you are aware of the difference between MASS and WEIGHT but your correlation of friction to weight is not clear, nor does it explain how it is easier. Clarification please.

Bob commented on the post, Fewer races and more testing? No thanks, Alonso 4 months ago
@crr917 – I agree regarding the bans, but I also believe that the amount of testing is a considerable factor in limiting gaps. Limiting the amount of in-season testing would, in all likelihood, prevent any one […]

Bob commented on the post, Fewer races and more testing? No thanks, Alonso 4 months ago
@crr917 – With testing, the midfield teams have little chance of catching up to the top tier teams who can afford it, creating a running order out of the Schumacher era. With bans, big gaps are less likely to exist.

Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Budget cap is ‘only way for F1 to survive’ – Gascoyne 4 months, 1 week ago
So they were not kicked exactly as I said.
You’re acting as if they were not punished. They were. The only reason why they didn’t get kicked out of the sport was – as I said – because they convinced the […]

@crr917 Sponsorship is done with the expectation of a commercial return. There is a difference between a sponsor and a benefactor.

Team Enstone wasn’t kicked after Crashgate.
No, they weren’t – but that was because Renault aided the FIA at every step of the investigation and convinced them that Britatore’s actions were not supported […]

@crr917 I think you are looking at this in a bit of a romantic and naive manner. While I wish it was the case that companies would just pour money into sports out of the good of their hearts, and simply prepare […]

“no one kicks anyone out of F1″
Teams “kick” each other often but that’s different topic. -
Prisoner Monkeys commented on the post, Budget cap is ‘only way for F1 to survive’ – Gascoyne 4 months, 1 week ago
Maybe FIA thought about it and this is why we don’t have budget cap yet.
No, there’s no budget cap because Red Bull have refused to agree to any regulations that would see it become mandatory.
There […]

That’s a really interesting question. I have heard of a “salary cap” in some sports but […]

@crr917 – Probably. There’s no way a budget cap would be introduced without some way of policing it. That’s what all the fuss to date has been; Red Bull are refusing to support any regulations that would force […]
