Isnt part of if that the cars had so much less grip at the front in those days due to the larger rear tyres, so the sliding/rotating the rear of the car via oversteer – was intended to get the pushy front end to point the correct way out of a corner?22nd April 2012, 5:27 at 5:27 am #199905
Unbelievable that grid drop they gave to Nasr. Cecotto made a rubbish move that LH made about 8 times last season and was penalized each time for it – how did Cecotta get away with it? Especially after pulling a Schumacher on Barrichello 2010 push off the track on Gutierrez? Absolutely astounding.9th April 2012, 14:44 at 2:44 pm #187046
I wanted to add how pleased I was at Edwards’ pace in the CRT Suter BMW. Suter is my last name. :)9th April 2012, 14:42 at 2:42 pm #187045
Okay first of all – What a race!!
The fight between Cal and dovizioso was intense for the first 3/4ths of the race, lots of really close cornering. The fight early on between Stoner and Pedrosa was fantastic! it was clear that Casey had the pace and needed to get by Pedrosa for the lead, since Pedrosa being slower was still keeping up with Lorenzo.
This is the first motoGP race I have ever watched and I am fascinated. Actually, I watched Malaysia last year. The worst MOTOGP EVER to watch on your first go. So I gave it a new shot this year.
What the hell is this issue with chatter the Stoner is having? Something about the awkward rebounding of the suspension on bumps in corners causing the rear to be unstable in the corners? Idk about this. It seemed to me that Stoner ended up falling back due to tyre wear/possibly excessive due to the sliding about because of chatter.
Is there a website which gets all technical about MotoGP like in F1, like say – scarbsf1 or f1technical.net?9th April 2012, 14:04 at 2:04 pm #198497
How about a 1986 mode? :D18th March 2012, 0:33 at 12:33 am #196086
As an added note, I couldnt much care less for Damon being a co-host, he doesnt do much for me, for some reason. I just cant help but think I liked him better in the 90s, in a Williams :D18th March 2012, 0:32 at 12:32 am #196085
Going to watch the sky stream someone posted elsewhere (VipBox) for the pre-show and then switch to SpeedTV for the live race coverage. I will keep the laptop on streaming the audio of the SkyF1 commentary, and my damned TV muted. What an awkward way to watch F1. And all because I cant seem to find a nice HD live stream! Kidding, I am lucky as an American to get to hear the Skyf1 commentary through the vipbox.
Basically, the duo of Crofty and Brundle is a win. Crofty was out of his MIND during qualifying. So exciting. It was 3am watching here in the states, I had been up all day at work and then all evening watching FP3 and Quali and it was really special to get to hear Crofty and Brundle together, as before I was always torn between listening to 5 Live radio coverage during the race or the actual broadcast.
Hoping the pre-race show is a cracker. Except I have to watch it in like 160×90 pixels streaming online :(5th February 2012, 3:40 at 3:40 am #191715

I only have PC version, but have been enjoying myself recently, I am nowhere near the skill level. Maybe we could start a d3v0cup, kind of like Renault 2.0 for us young guns to get our feet wet :D
Epic race posted, watched the whole thing. Looks like good clean racing.17th April 2011, 5:44 at 5:44 am #167157
Statistics don’t lie! they mentioned this during the 5Live coverage of Free Practice 1 regarding the 8 drivers who have won the first three races of the season and gone on to win the the WDC:
Fangio – 1954, 1957 (skipped Indianapolis)
Senna – 1991
Mansell – 1992
Schumi – 1994, 2000, 2004
Hill – 199617th April 2011, 5:31 at 5:31 am #166979
I prefer Chandhok to Bruno – in terms of impromptu-FP/Quali-reserve-driver-auxiliary-commentary positions. I want to see Bruno in a racing car, not in jeans chatting it up with Jake Humphreys.
