Dan Thorn commented on the post, Ten copies of C’etait un Rendezvous in HD to be won 4 months ago
I believe it transpired a couple of years ago that the car used was a Merc 450SEL with a Ferrari 275 engine noise dubbed over the top, with the director himself driving. There are certainly parts of the film where […]

Nope, just double checked. A couple have only won 1 European race but Vettel is the first to do it without winning any.

I think I’m right in saying Vettel becomes the first driver to win a championship without winning a European round. A sign of the times I guess!

It’s hard to choose between Hamilton and Alonso, both did a great job under a pressure – Hamilton from the speculation surrounding his drive, Alonso from the car problems in practice and qualifying and from the […]

F1 9 months, 1 week agoWoah! Car Wars is on YouTube! I must have watched that video to death when I was a kid.
“Apparently, cochon is the French word for pig!”

I love these books, they’re fantastic to flick through every now and then (especially good as a companion when nature calls ;) ) and they’re a good way of getting to learn more about a decade if you want to learn […]

Dan Thorn commented on the post, Top teams remain close as McLaren peg back Red Bull 9 months, 2 weeks ago
The thing about Valencia is that the nature of the track makes the cars very close together – it’s mainly point and squirt, and a great aero package will give you less time there than, say, Silverstone. It’s why […]

Dan Thorn commented on the post, Advantage Alonso as teams prepare for summer break 10 months ago
Although Red Bull are the form team here, this is surely a track where Alonso will expect another good result – he won his first race here in 2003, produced probably the best opening laps of a Grand Prix ever in […]

Dan Thorn commented on the post, Vote for the best driver of the German Grand Prix weekend 10 months ago
Alonso has this one easily. Fast in practice, fast in qualifying and another masterful wet pole position. I’m not sure the car is capable of pole in the dry and he’s really grabbed the last two opportunities with […]

Dan Thorn commented on the post, 2012 German Grand Prix championship points 10 months ago
The positive for Alonso is that every race he seems to be fighting a different driver. Even if he gets beaten once in a while, no one driver seems able to mount a consistent challenge. Unless one of the other […]

Off-topic 10 months, 2 weeks agoGT Racing, no question. Big powerful cars with fat tyres and simple aerodynamics, a great sound and a real mix of cars and drivers. The idea of driving open wheelers has never appealed to me, too much emphasis on […]

Dan Thorn commented on the post, Furious Perez demands action on Maldonado 10 months, 2 weeks ago
Maldonado has done some stupid stuff in the past, sure, but this was just an unfortunate racing incident. He had a small slide mid corner which took him into Perez, it could have happened to anyone but as it was, […]

Precisely. It’s not like they’re being forced into doing it. Mostly the girls are signed up to an agency and the sponsors/teams/whoever will source them out from agencies. They’re usually covered in sponsorship […]
