Chilton might make a good F1 driver some day, but his family have catapulted him into the seat too quickly, and long term that could well damage his chances of getting back into F1.
Although he’s a much more talented driver, take Jaime Alguersuari as a similar example. Catapulted into F1 early, had his chance, and now it’s gone – despite the fact he’s still good enough and got lots of years to develop his race craft, we’ll probably never see him F1 again.
Max will fail this year, and no one will want to touch him again even if he coughs up 20 million, because there’ll be another unprepared rookie with 25 million ready to replace him.
By chance, I happened to be in Nice on the Sunday of the race last year. I went down to the Nice train station (can’t remember the name, but assume it was the main one) and queued for about an hour to get a train ticket. Trains were like every 10 minutes or so and the journey takes less than half hour (and is absolutely beautiful too, get a window seat)
Anyway, I didn’t even have a ticket for the race, so ended up splashing out a couple of hundred euros to stand on someones balcony, which was actually a fantastic view and well worth the price.
Basically, what I’m saying is I’m sure you’ll be fine.
Hi, through sheer chance i find myselfin Nice and it’s the race tomorrow. Yay! Do yu think it’s possibleto get tickets from the gates? Or should i risk it with touts? I’m on tourwith my band at the moment, so only really need general admission. Othetwise i’ll just pop on the train and watch it in a bar or something :-)
