If we’re going with all time favorites, I’m a huge fan of the 917’s. Those top speeds at Le Mans back in the day would have been stunning to see. These days, I like the 908’s…although the Audi’s are starting to grow on me.
In the GT class, I’m still in love with the GT40! It was fun to see the Robertson’s running the throw back at Petite Le Mans still.
And I have to admit I always loved the Mercedes CLR-GT1. Who cares if it had a tendency to crest a hill and just….keep on rising LOL Other than that, it really was a cool car. :-)
Yes, they really are that quiet. I think Polishboy808 nailed it, it’s almost more like a powerful humming noise as they go by.
And I’m with you DamionShadows…I want to go to Le Mans itself now. Luckily our headquarters for my company is in London and I have an excuse to be over on that side of the pond so next year I’m going to try and catch Le Mans as well as one of the F1 races in Europe.
Now that I’ve done the motorsport in person…I’m hooked!!!
