Mine is quite boring at this time. I would like to see Raikkonen move on to change it up a bit.

It really stood out with the chrome, and it was quite luminous in certain lighting. It’s easy to forget, therefore, that Vodafone also sponsored Ferrari from 2002-06 and Benetton in 2001.
Other favourites are Canon/Camel (89-93) and Rothmans (94-97) from the Williams-Renault days.

21. Gutierrez – Threw away Sauber’s only real chance of points in Monaco. Difficult car but you have to take the opportunities when they come.
20. Sutil – Got into Q3 in the US. That’s about it.
19. Ericsson – His form improved before Caterham’s troubles caught up with them, and got 11th in Monaco, which was overshadowed by Bianchi’s 9th.
18. Kobayashi – Thoroughly beat his team-mate and seemed to get the most out of a difficult car.
17. Raikkonen – The disappointment of the season and one he’ll wish to forget quickly. Two memorable races in Hungary and Belgium when we thought his form was returning, but it never did after that.
16. Maldonado – Impressive display in the US and did well against his team-mate more lately. A couple of incidents as we’d expect but an improvement.
15. Grosjean – Excellent qualifying in Spain and points in Spain and Monaco. Often got beaten by Maldonado later on and his frustrating season was clear to hear.
14. Bianchi – Gave Marussia their day in the sun at Monaco. We all wish him the best.
13. Magnussen – Some good drives, like Australia and Russia, but sometimes went missing. He didn’t meet the high expectations many had of him.
12. Vettel – Pretty consistent and some good podiums, but being beaten by Ricciardo in his first season won’t have done his reputation any good.
11. Kvyat – Great qualifying speed, not so in races. But that can be addressed, as it was with Ricciardo.
10. Vergne – Very consistent in races and beat his team-mate well in this department. His best season so far. He deserves a seat in F1.
9. Perez – Had some really impressive drives, particularly Bahrain, and generally got the better of Hulkenberg in the second half of the season.
8. Hulkenberg – His form dropped off compared to his team-mate after an impressive first half of the season, but the last two races he seemed to be back to his best which was nice to see.
7. Massa – His form in the second half the season was good, whereas beforehand was average, and he was starting to get the better of Bottas.
6. Rosberg – Mistakes crept in in the second half of the season, e.g. Russia was a rookie-type error, and it seemed the Hungary incident had affected him. Excellent in qualifying though and still kept Hamilton honest until the end.
5. Button – McLaren would be mad not to keep him. As consistent as ever, thrashed his team-mate when it mattered, and his form in the last couple of months has been brilliant.
4. Bottas – Very consistent and beat his team-mate well up until the last few races.
3. Alonso – Wiped the floor with his team-mate. To even be leading the race in Hungary was an achievement, and 2 podiums was more than that car was worthy of.
2. Hamilton – To come back from all the issues he had in mid-season against such a strong team-mate showed real character. Qualifying was a weakness, but when it came to race-day, he was unstoppable. Fully-deserved second title.
1. Ricciardo – To beat his 4-time World Champion team-mate by such a margin, in his first season, was remarkable. And those 3 opportunist wins were stunning.3rd November 2014, 20:25 at 8:25 pm #283370Deej92ParticipantLa nuova entrata della pit-lane a Interlagos. 17th September 2014, 16:52 at 4:52 pm #274878Deej92ParticipantI also thought the silver and chrome McLarens were down to the Mercedes partnership, but they weren’t (remember Marlboro McLaren Mercedes?). Silver was because of West and chrome was because of AkzoNobel and wanting to show their sponsors better.
For next year, white is obviously a real possibility with Honda, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see them stick with chrome. Their secondary colour obviously depends on the title/main sponsor (if they get one that is). So I’ll say it’ll be a chrome and [sponsor’s colours] livery.
9th September 2014, 16:34 at 4:34 pm #274178Deej92ParticipantI don’t think it will happen and I’ve always really disliked the idea. But the three teams most likely to pull out for me are Caterham, Marussia and Sauber (rather than Lotus).

Red Bull – Vettel, Ricciardo, Kvyat
Williams – Massa, Vergne, Nasr
Ferrari – Alonso, Raikkonen, Bianchi

30th August 2014, 0:20 at 12:20 am #272644Deej92ParticipantI have quite a modern top 5.
5. Williams FW27 (2005) – The McLaren MP4-20 is a popular choice but this was 05’s nicest for me.
4. Williams FW15C (1993) – The most technological-sophisticated F1 car of all time? Nice shape and the Canon-Camel liveries were always stunning.
3. McLaren MP4-25 (2010) – Thanks largely to the F-duct, 2010 had the best-looking grid of the post-08 era. They looked quick. The red and chrome always made McLaren stand-out from the rest in their Vodafone days.
2. McLaren MP4-23 (2008) – I loved the shape of 07 and 08 cars, and all the winglets, which 08 had more of. That’s why this is here and not the MP4-22. As above, I was fond of the Vodafone liveries.
1. McLaren MP4/12 (1997) – 96 and 97 had stunning grids, before the 1998 chassis changes. These cars were clean-looking and wide, which made them look super-fast. The West livery was always pleasing on the eye. This was what the generic F1 car looked like to me when I was very young.29th August 2014, 15:41 at 3:41 pm #272617Deej92ParticipantI find it hard to imagine McLaren are interested in Grosjean, too. Considering they are chasing the likes of Alonso and Vettel, I seriously doubt Grosjean is going to be on their radar as some sort of back-up option. They would just keep Button if they can’t prise away Alonso or Vettel just yet, which is the logical thing to do in my opinion. Surely Hulkenberg would be higher up the list than Grosjean as well.
Grosjean should just look forward to staying with Lotus next year rather than suggesting he might have to look elsewhere. There are no real alternatives, and I feel Lotus is a fine team to be in, despite their struggles this year. They have a Mercedes tie-up next year so it could be promising.
