It may not even be their fault. They would have bought a fixed amount of bandwidth to use, and I guess they just severely underestimated the amount of people who wanted to get onto the website.

Almost certainly the correct choice. Having the 2 top drivers in the same team means that they could end up taking points off each other, allowing someone else to win the drivers championship.

why not have a roster of stewards who have to pass FIA tests? It (almost) works for other sporting referees, such as those in football.

yes, but the performance of the 2009 mclaren could arguably be put down to a single part, the double diffuser. with the ferrari this year, it is much harder to see where any huge gains could be made

You have to remember that due to the circumstances at Silverstone, Ferrari didn’t have to use the dry tyres, whcih may have helped alonso by quite a bit.
