The Vettel/McLaren Honda rumour makes a lot of sense to me. Ron Dennis will be looking to put a superstar into one of their cars – I’m sure Kmag will be that star one day, but he’s still not on the same level as the top guys. I can’t see Alonso retuning to McLaren just yet. Vettel seems a little less excited about being a Red Bull driver these days and I’m sure he still has a desire to drive for one of the “historic top teams”. I wonder if Seb knows something about the future plans of Adrian Newey that we don’t? Does anyone know if Adrian is on a long term contract with RB? Maybe it is just another silly season rumour, but the Vettel/McLaren 2015 tie-up seems completely fathomable.

    Villeneuve.

In their prime: Kubica or Kimi?

I agree that putting the driver number next to their position was at first a little confusing, when they were showing relative times at the bottom of the screen. Like 6 77 Bottas – 7 25 Vergne. Hopefully that will seem more normal as we go, but it caused me to do a couple of double-takes.

I don’t have much time, so I’ll just do my top ten :)

    1. Hamilton
    2. Rosberg
    3. Alonso
    4. Massa
    5. Hulkenburg
    6. Bottas
    7. Raikkonen
    8. Button
    9. Vettel
    10. Perez

I would love to see Caterham sign Kovalainen and Kobayashi. I would love to see a team in Caterhams position take a risk on good drivers scoring points, instead of banking on rookie drivers bringing in safe money but not really getting into the race. Perhaps I’m asking too much, but if this team wants to soundly beat Marussia and start to challenge the midfield, they need good drivers, not just a few extra bucks in the bank. Possibly unrealistic I know, but wouldn’t it be nice?

It would be funny if Williams built a world championship car next year :-)

…and Bottas won the title ;-)

Massa had the privilege of spending 7 years in a Ferrari – that’s more than most F1 drivers get. He had his chances in a top, some may say he had more than his share of opportunity, and didn’t win a WDC. I can’t see it happening in a midfield team.

Massa on Hamilton gets my vote.

I don’t agree. I agree with the spelling even less.

Williams. They won a race last year, had a decent car at most races, and there was a really good feeling about this years car. Combine that with the arrival of their highly rated rookie Bottas, it was looking like 2013 would be a great season. But no. Shocking season with just one point all year. As a Williams fan, this has been a really hard season to watch.

I can’t stand Matchett. Hobbs was ok for a while, and seemingly a pretty nice guy, but is really not cut out for commentary. I would love to see that whole team replaced. Will Buxton does a pretty good job, though.

@magon4 – Seems a shame that JEV is actually ahead of RIC on points at the moment and is looking at being booted, while RIC looks almost certain for a top seat. I don’t really follow the Torro Rosso drivers that closely but they seem quite evenly matched overall – is there a reason why JEV has not been linked to that Red Bull seat at any time?

In terms of popularity I would have always said Monaco, Indy500 or the LeMans 24. I now live in the US and its undoubtedly the 500 for folks over here – I don’t think the LM24 is a big deal to most people here. I guess it depends where you live.

Really good video. I put it up on our AppleTV so the family could watch too :) The music really fits the mood of the vid. Do you mind me asking what editing software you use? Great job.
