Vergne will probably use that helmet in Formula E just like Buemi and his Redbull helmet.

It’s been around for a while but it has slipped past me until now. I just stumbled upon Kubica’s 2014 helmet from Bell; any ideas if he has actually used it or not?

It’s horrid to say the least. They essentially get to start from scratch without Mercedes as their PU supplier and Vodafone as a title sponsor yet they go out and paint the car the same way they have been for as long as I remember. It’s hard for me to like the team for butchering the opportunity despite getting Honda engines and Alonso.

I think he will be keeping this. During one of the McLaren interviews he said he would be sporting a different helmet than usual and I think this fits the description. He’s not someone to change his helmet too often.

Anyone have more pictures of the helmet by any chance? I’m trying to search for more angles, but haven’t had any luck so far.

It’s hard to single out one helmet, but I’ll mention a few that I really like.

    – Niki Lauda’s Parmalat Helmet
    – Robert Kubica’s 2011 Helmet
    – Jean Eric Vergne’s Cevert and Alesi Helmet Remakes (I just prefer the designs on the newer helmets with better quality and all)

Thanks @fixy! First thing I did after seeing the official pictures of the f1 car was to come on this thread because I knew you would be on top of this.

That was quite an interesting move by Sylt. Seems like a hit below the belt to me, and a little too personal for my tastes. Can’t say this prevented me from reading more of his articles, so I guess he has a reason to be happy given that I had no clue who he was.

To start off, I think we need a big healthy grid to shake things up and a lot more sponsors. Williams, a team that finished 3rd, hardly has any sponsors to the point where they almost look poor. I do feel 2015 will bring us some cracking liveries, with McLaren Honda replacing the Vodafone era and hopefully a few more radical changes.

I watched the first half and loved it! Unlike all the other documentaries I’ve seen, this one is very up close and actually follows Alonso through his weekend routine. I’m a massive Alonso fan already, but this just seals the deal

I actually like the fact that he keeps changing his helmet. Everyone else keeps the same design, so I often differentiate him as the driver by knowing what his teammates race in. If you look closely, most of his helmets have the same design features (character lines), but with different patterns filling it in. Its refreshing to see new designs, and is one of the main things I look forward to at the start of every season.

I actually love the huge contrast between the clean white, and bright red (his 2012 Japan GP Helmet would look amazing here). I’m really looking forward to his helmet designs for the 2015 season. Any thoughts on whether he might race in a Schuberth?

By the looks of it, my list keeps changing year by year. I guess memory plays a role in the outcome, but I tried using to old list to help me acknowledge drivers past form. Oddly, this is my first list with Massa.

    1. Fernando Alonso
    2. Sebastian Vettel
    3. Michael Schumacher
    4. Lewis Hamilton
    5. Kimi Raikkonen
    6. Robert Kubica
    7. Mika Hakkinen
    8. Felipe Massa
    9. Jenson Button
    10. Nico Rosberg

That is a fantastic pairing! Both drivers have a fair pedigree, although not top tier drivers just yet, they are amongst the most promising drivers. I will be watching closely to see how Hulkenburg really stands. Force India is the perfect team for these guys at the moment, a team that provides solid point scoring opportunities with relatively good consistency. It’s now down to Sauber to match FI’ pairing as they tend to trade punches throughout the season. (Haha, I’m truly thrilled despite this not being official yet!)
