ECWDanSelby commented on the post, New video of Maldonado and Hamilton’s Monaco crash 1 week ago
With all due respect, I don’t think that’s really the point.
You shouldn’t have to just concede position because you want points and a ‘greater’ car is coming through. If you say that, you may as well blue flag […]

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Perez: 2011 Monaco crash a “watershed” moment 1 week ago
I was about to ask what changes had been made to Monaco since the crash…
You have to wonder whether we’ll see a similar off. And if we do, the consequences of what track changes we may see in the […]

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Should F1 change its tyre strategy? 1 week, 4 days ago
Also, look at the championship..
The cream rises to the top. Those who can cope with this ‘new’ F1 are still the best drivers. Simple as that. Nothing’s changed there.

Here’s my feelings posted elsewhere:

So Sky have jumped on the bangwagon of ‘too much of a good thing’ and how the sport ‘needs back to back […]

Yep, you’re absolutely right!
I struggle to tell the difference between the two at times.

I was watching the F1 2004 season review last night (with your mate Will Buxton doing commentary!) and it’s quite shocking how much quicker those cars look through the corners.

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Dry start in Spain but chance of rain on race day 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Looking at the Google map of this circuit, I notice two things in regards to the safety of the track:
1) Isn’t this not too disimilar to Mugello? I’m looking at the run-off size/use of gravel, and it’s all […]

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Alonso wants more respect between drivers 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Thanks for that, PM. I think it’s a logical move.
I also heard they’d be making some pretty major changes to the final corner. I think they’re moving the grandstand back to put in some run-off, that it desperately needs.

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, DRS overtaking falls in first races of 2012 2 weeks, 2 days ago
The novelty of DRS has worn off for me, I think.
I was open to the idea, even quite liked the idea. It worked a treat last year, but it doesn’t seem apt this year. I’m hoping this trend continues.
I’d like […]

I more meant of the 1994 San Marino weekend! Thanks for the link, anyway.
It’s just I know Keith was probably watching it at the time, so it’d be interesting to hear more of a first-hand account.

Would be cool to perhaps hear about San Marino 1994 and a more personal account from you?

Lovely article, Keith. Really enjoyed that. Thank you.

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, F1 drivers praise Mugello but Petrov says it’s not safe 3 weeks, 1 day ago
I think the lack of tarmac invasion/trees and greenery surrounding Vitaly have perhaps made him feel a little faint…

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Webber says tyres produce more exciting racing 3 weeks, 1 day ago
I was about to say, Keith, they’re almost a substitute for the gravel. I understand people will say ‘yeh, but that’s on track!’, but clearly it hasn’t deterred many from making a move.

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Pirelli: tyre rules may need bringing up-to-date 3 weeks, 3 days ago
A logical, well-thought out response.
I’m starting to wonder what Pirelli are doing in F1..!

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, F1 should fixed its flawed rules before changing the tyres 4 weeks ago
Dead on, Keith.
I can’t stand this bandwagon jumping.
Do you want good racing, or boring racing? I think we can narrow it down to that.

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Should Lotus have used team orders in Bahrain? 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Also, if it were Romain P1 and Kimi P2, i’d say it’d be very wrong to swap the order.
But if you got one driver on the quicker tyre being slightly held up by your guy infront of him on the slower tyre, and […]

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Should Lotus have used team orders in Bahrain? 4 weeks, 1 day ago
To everyone who thinks it wouldn’t have made any difference, I beg to differ. A few laps worth of life on tyres means everything now. And it’s not just wasting laps, it’s the extra deg you get from sitting close […]

ECWDanSelby commented on the post, Should Lotus have used team orders in Bahrain? 4 weeks, 1 day ago
I think in this instance, team orders were definitely the right thing to do.
I think the fact both Kimi and Romain were on different tyres could have been enough of an ‘excuse’ to tell Romain he needs to move […]

Yeh, a great piece there, Keith.
One thing – Didn’t Imola use the Variante Bassa (sp?) back then, as well as the final chicane?
