@banana88x Wow – well done!
11 out of 20 current drivers are now race winners.
I’ll go for Norris to be winner no. 112.8th December 2020, 19:12 at 7:12 pm #443275EnigmaParticipantHad Russell won in Sakhir, I’d be tempted to say Perez in a Red Bull.
I’ll say Russell. Not sure if it’ll be in 2020 or 2022, but I don’t expect anyone else taking their first victory beforehand – of course there’s a chance of a surprise.
Sainz would be my next choice for 2022.
12th September 2020, 15:27 at 3:27 pm #436972EnigmaParticipantNoone said Gasly! :)
Very tough to choose the 110th winner. I’ll say Sainz, even if that might be in 2022. Can’t think of anyone more likely to win by then than him. Stroll might have a chance, or perhaps whoever drives alongside Verstappen next year.
@ben-n Thanks – so do I!This video sums up this topic quite nicely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY352dxpty8

I like your answers. Alonso really is so tough, given his career. I think of him as a Ferrari driver, despite his two stints with Renault and McLaren, and his success at Renault. Perhaps that would’ve been different had I followed F1 as closely in mid 2000s as I did later. Petrov I’d have easily said Renault. Interesting :)
Button I would have to say McLaren. He did spent 7 seasons at BAR/Honda/Brawn as well, so some might choose that, but when I think of him I see him in a McLaren.
Barrichello I’ll go for Ferari, he was there when I started watching F1 and won several races.
Fisichella is a tough one as well. Easy to forget he finished his career at Ferrari! I would have to say Force India, it’s the most recent memory, despite him winning races elsewhere.Next three:
Jarno Trulli
Gerhard Berger
Nick Heidfeld2nd September 2019, 21:09 at 9:09 pm #404547EnigmaParticipantI’m prety sure Albon will end up ahead. A couple of podiums and he’s there …
2nd September 2019, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #404546EnigmaParticipantIt’s no surprise Leclerc has won his first Grand Prix.
But who will be the next new winner?
Renault does not look like joining the top 3 teams at the front in 2020, so I’d have to say Albon. Red Bull will be in contention for several victories in the rest of the season, so he’s got to have a chance – even if noone really expects him to be beating Max.I say he’ll win a race very late in the season.
11th September 2018, 17:27 at 5:27 pm #376365EnigmaParticipantIt’s got to be Leclerc. Gasly is the only other driver I see winning a first race in 2019.
After that? Hulkenberg or Ocon.
19th July 2017, 18:42 at 6:42 pm #346533EnigmaParticipantGasly.
24th January 2017, 11:35 at 11:35 am #334439EnigmaParticipant@Girts Agree with that. Should be within a few races, really.
As for Vandoorne, I think he’s capable of winning as soon as Alonso. When that is depends on the car, of course.
18th March 2016, 1:58 at 1:58 am #315493EnigmaParticipantFor the first time that I remember there will be no F1 coverage in Slovenia. The biggest commercial television used to cover it, then the national broadcaster had F1 for a few years, but not anymore.
The quality was nothing to write home about, to be honest, as there was no programme other than qualifying/race live broadcast with commentary that was not very good. Still, it’s sad to see there’s no coverage now, which will no doubt have a huge effect on the popularity of F1 in Slovenia, which was already getting lower in my view.
Austrian ORF is accessible though, so I’ll be able to watch F1 there. And improve my German!
1st September 2015, 11:21 at 11:21 am #304081EnigmaParticipantI prefer the Nurburgring, it really is a proper track. Alternating wasn’t too bad though.
24th August 2015, 11:04 at 11:04 am #303736EnigmaParticipantTwo that have already been mentioned – Kvyat on Massa, which was right on the edge. And Verstappen’s ballsy/insane move on Alonso into Blanchimont.
23rd August 2015, 8:58 at 8:58 am #303592EnigmaParticipant2013 British GP – Rosberg took the win after Vettel had a gearbox failure. Vettel had inherited that lead too as Hamilton had had one of the many punctures in that race.
13th August 2015, 6:10 at 6:10 am #303161EnigmaParticipantThis one might top your choice :)
12th August 2015, 18:13 at 6:13 pm #303152EnigmaParticipant@mazdachris We’re talking about the current 20 drivers though. Had the rally crash not happened then I suppose someone would be mentioning the Montreal crash as Kubica would probably still have been a good F1 driver.
