Or they can be used to check the data from the wind tunnel. I.e the air flow/ shape of the vortices coming off the various arodynamic surfaces is as close as possible to computer predictions

Montoya in 2006 leaving mclaren mid season, possibly after falling out with Ron dennis over the previous 18 months. Have often wondered could he have won the 2007 championpship as he was clearly talented enough to win races. Be in championship hunt but had enough experience in simmilar situations, to Hamilton in the 2007 China race about when to pit for new tyres not end up in a gravel trap at the pit lane entry

From a personal point of view i would say Cmthe Spanish grand prix at Catalyua, as it is a curcuit that is used extensively for testing so all the teams have the car set up more or less perfected before a wheel is turned so the qualfying usualy decides race results. Also with the Spanish weather there is little chance of a supprise result due to weather

How about in 2005 when it became clear early in the season that michelen rather than bridgestone had the better tyre to last a race distance

Or in 2007 during the hungarian grand prix qualfying when Alonso disobayed team orders by refusing to drive his car as he was trying to disadvantage Hamilton

Correct me if i am wrong but dont the teams run one off liveries anyway?

Due to local advertising laws about alchol, or sponsers that have country specfic brands

was there any particular drivers autograph you wanted? If so email/ ring the relevant teams press office and get hold of a copy of there public/press appearance schedule as they will have it worked out more less were they will be at any point during the weekend. Back in 2005 i went to silverstone and over heard two members of the press dsccusing Montoya’s appearance schedule and that he would be appearing at the team stand at 4pm for interview and autographs (if memory serves) so i made sure i was there in time to get to the front of the queue

Its true that on a sub conscus level Rosberg might have a “on/ off switch” that is preventing him from finding the kind of form he needs to achive to beat Hamilton. If he cant switch it on soon, it will become inevtable that Mercedes will put all their effort behind Hamilton as he will be their best chance in the championship

I accept what you say about Moss in 1955 and that i was wrong to include it in the above examples. However the pointvi was trying to make is that some drivers have the extra mental capacity/ strength to overcome psychlogical challanges when compared to others i.e not let another driver “get in your head”, Hamilton had this problem last year which affected his qualfying after the events of Monaco. But sgnifcantly found a way to overcome it and won 5 of the last 6 races, Rosberg arguably hasnt been the same since the race at Spa

I agree they must be on multi year contracts or at least have get out clauses. However after how he was treated last year by McLaren (who must have know that Alonso was driving for them this year at a board room level at least), I wouldn’t be surprised if Button is looking into other forms of motorsport such as the world endurance championship

Just a thought but why don’t you start with a logo for Ferrari/ Renault/ Mercedes/ Honda on top of a box labelled Engine R & D for hybrid technology for the 2015 season.

Mercedes put in a lot of money
    Ferrari put in some
Renault hardly put any in at all
    Honda don’t put anything in

Skip to a screen called 2015 season with engines with
A Mercedes engine starts first time
A Ferrari starts the second time
A Renault starts but stops after smoke/ steam appears then blows up
    A Honda just blows up

    Hope this all makes sense

That is very valid points about sufficient toilets/ food requirements etc. But the point I am trying to make is it is surely worth the money to hire a car park/ disused suitable space.I genuinely think this would pay for it self as the team could sell merchandise let fans get close to old cars/ hear a V10 engine fired up and used by test driver to do demonstration runs/ donuts. Look at how busy Goodwood festival of speed is every year, that pays for it self and gets a lot of media coverage for sponsors.

I don’t like Red Bull as a team I respect them for buying the struggling Jaguar team and turning it around to win 4 consecutive driver/ constructor titles, but don’t like the way that they seem to “fast track” drivers who they support in the lower formulas into positions were they are not ready and as a result struggle to make an impact so affectively that’s their career over.

However one aspect I think that has been over looked in the post Melbourne analysis is that Mercedes have used the most engine tokens so the 2015 engine is more or less about as developed as its going to be, so later on in the season when Ferrari/ Renault/ Honda use the rest of their engine tokens it will close the gap. As well as is it possible that Renault told Red Bull to turn down their engine during the race to a more conservative setting to save it for later on in the season particularly since they had already suffered engine/ gearbox reliability issues in practice/ on the formation lap. This way they could get a better chance of a reasonable amount of points (since only 15 cars started the race and 11 finished it) which could prove very useful later on in the season.

I agree with you when i first started watching F1 around 1996 i just to eagly watch as much coverage as i could (and read as much as i could when i got acess to the internet). So i would feel i have a fairly good laymans understanding of the technology/ history of the sport but i am inceasing finiding it difficult to stay motivated to watch the races as the constant rule changes dont help (when having to explain things to people who dont have the same level of interest when watching with me). F1 needs to find a way to re conect with fans, how to achive this isnt a simple fix but it needs to be done
