13th January 2014, 16:03 at 4:03 pm #245055MattParticipantBooked my tickets today. We’re in Grandstand G ( J was sold out ) . For flights , 8 nights accomodation and race tickets its cost us about £500 each .
2nd January 2014, 15:50 at 3:50 pm #245046MattParticipantI got the train back to the city, had to que for about 15 minutes at the station. The staff were wll organised , counting the people into the station as they knew how many people the train held. You can also get an airport express train
23rd December 2013, 15:09 at 3:09 pm #245043MattParticipantI’m planning to go back again next year. I went in 2012 when Maldonado won. If anyone needs any advice feel free to ask.
We’re flying from East Midlands, our local airport. Really cheap with Ryanair13th September 2013, 10:17 at 10:17 am #210322MattParticipantHere’s my review of the event, hope it’s helpful for people who want to go in 2014.
On thursday, we caught the train from Garibaldi to Monza . It takes 15 minutes and they run every 15 minutes. We had to catch the public bus (221 or 204) to the circuit. The pitwalk was very crowded, but worth doing. On the way back we found a gap in the fence to get onto the banking. Words can’t describe how steep it is. It was hard to find our way out on thursday due to a lack of signs. We walked for over an hour to get out of the park !
Friday and Saturday we again caught the train from garibaldi and the Shuttle bus from monza station. It’s still a long walk form the park to the circuit, about 30 minutes to our seats at the Parabolica. The signage was a lot better to the bus stops.
On sunday we went from Central. We caught the train at 8am, so there wasn’t much of a cue. 2 laps before the end of the race, we walked down to the gate at parabolica and got on the circuit at the end of the race. We were right underneath the podium, getting sprayed with the champagne by the drivers. An amazing experience.
we had to wait about 90 mins for a train back to milan.5th August 2013, 19:39 at 7:39 pm #210275MattParticipantHas anyone seen a timetable for the weekend yet ?
11th July 2013, 18:44 at 6:44 pm #210268MattParticipantMichael. I ordered my tickets on April 2nd
10th July 2013, 19:03 at 7:03 pm #210263MattParticipantHi guys. My ‘print at home’ tickets that I ordered from Monzanet have been emailed to me today .
4th July 2013, 18:43 at 6:43 pm #206641MattParticipantYou can purchase tickets online, then collect from a ticket collection point at the circuit
3rd July 2013, 19:56 at 7:56 pm #206638MattParticipantThey don’t let you take cans or glass bottles in, I got stopped taking a can of coke in. You can take alcohol in if it’s in a plastic bottle I think. (that was the situation at Barcelona). There’s a mini market right next to the station, just turn right when you get to the main road.
The drivers signing session is usually Thursday afternoon, get there early because it gets packed.
3rd July 2013, 11:10 at 11:10 am #206635MattParticipantJust found this
Train service also exists. The train (called the Gödöllõi HÉV) leaves the Örs Vezér tér station every half an hour beginning at 4:30 a.m., stopping at the train station named “Mogyoród”. Please find the exact timetable at http://www.bkv.hu. The train is not free of charge, costing approx. HUF 365,00 for a one way ticket. (1€ = approx. HUF 270)
3rd July 2013, 11:02 at 11:02 am #206634MattParticipantThe track is easy to find from the station. Follow the crowds . It’s up a long hill / farm track , then accross a campsite/field which brings you to near the entrance gates. I think it was about 600f / £2 return so it’s cheap . You can buy tickets at a kiosk at the station, the queues werent that long. The suburban rail tickets are different from the underground tickets. There’s a help desk at the ors vezer ter station which is specially for the gp
1st July 2013, 19:48 at 7:48 pm #206632MattParticipantHi guys, I went to the Hungaroing last season (2012) and loved it. I caught the train to the circuit. It takes about 30 minutes from the city centre and another 30 minute walk from the station to the circuit (uphill on the way there, downhill on the way back ). There’s a shop near the station, get stocked up on water and food there. I’d advise against a taxi. We took one on Thursday to the driver signing session. We we’re stuck in traffic for ages, in the end we got out and walked ! . The pitwalk gets very busy, advise getting there early if you want autographs. The one in Barcelona is a lot better.
Budapest is a fantastic city , probably the best one I’ve been to on my travels. Went to one bar (Morisons) where it was 3 pints for 500f (about £1.60 ), and the food is amazing
14th June 2013, 14:38 at 2:38 pm #210248MattParticipantI’ve purchased the ‘print at home ‘ option from monzanet. Reading the small print they start sending the tickets in emails at the start of june. haven’t had mine yet .
24th July 2012, 19:35 at 7:35 pm #181685MattParticipantThis is my first visit to the Hungaroing, Been to Melbourne, Sepang, Montreal and Barcelona before. I’m getting the train into the circuit
