I seem to enjoy his articles quite a lot for some reason maybe because his style of writing is quite different to other writers who usually just state whats obvious in their articles.

Lets assume there was a green flag at marshal’s post. so how come it conflicts with lights. Its only possible when the Electrical system doesnt work properly and FIA can clear us on it if it was working properly or not.If the marshall showed the green flag, the lights have to be green because they are just the repetition mechanism of flags. So i doubt if there was any green flag. Even if there was one , FIA did not consider it and overruled it in which case lights got the precedence.

Where is it written that Flags take precedence over lights and why would they take precedence? The lights were introduced later on and are suppose to take precedence because the Flag method is not efficient enough. Its simple.

And Vettel doesnt deserve this championship by any means. Imagine Petrov moving over for Alonso in 2012 just like everybody moved over for Vettel in Brazil. F1 has never been fair and it will never be like other sports. I am huge fan and following it siince 1998. But moments like these disappoint me.

What was the point of introducing lights if flag was already there. To avoid this scenario where a driver is unable to see a flag in bad conditions. So in no way Flag takes precedence over lights. Just because the word flag is in the rule book it takes precedence doesnt make sense. Even if it does, do you think vettel saw it?

The rules on flags, lights and zones are clear. You are only in a green or yellow zone if you pass the green or yellow flags/lights. So if you see a yellow light ahead, you are still clear to overtake until you pass that yellow light. When you do, your dash also lights up yellow on the left and right sides. The word Flag also flashes on your dash. Vettel clearly overtook the STR under yellow flag conditions. His dash is lit w yellow lights. I find it hard to imagine he can say he did not see.

Vettel ahead of Alonso? The list has lost its credibility. I am no more wasting time on it now.

@David-A Yes you are right, flaps doesn’t count much in analyzing how good a driver is. But still it is something which is part of stats and can show that on the day a driver can push the car’s limit.

Other than that, Raikkonen has 65 podiums with a percentage of 39.16%, He had more podiums than Alonso when he left on sabbatical in 2009. Yes he has 1 WDC but so has Hamilton. and i wont argue on Vettel. He may not be as good as Raikkonen or Hamilton but he is 2 times WDC. We know that counts alot.

This list has already lost its credibility by not including Raikkonen. He deserves to be in Top 20 maybe in lower ranks. and putting Vettel so high hasn’t done justice.

Vettel is really over-rated. He should be somewhere near Lewis Hamilton in the list. And i think Kimi Raikkonen should be above both of them in the list. He suffered from badluck alot in his career. Still the guy has 60 podiums and 35 fastest laps. Alonso should be in Top 5. May be above Fangio and just behind Prost…
