@george I decided to keep doing what I’ve been doing so far and got the tracks that appear the most in the series I’m planning to race. I got Silverstone (old one but if they release the new one I’ll get a discount, surely), Oulton Park (love it), Zandvoort and Brands Hatch (mistake… I should’ve got Spa).
I then added the Skyppy and the Ruf. Already tried the Ruf at Mid Ohio (this week’s race) and god it’s a wonderful car to drive ! so tricky and loose at the back, but joyful !
Next step is defo getting those 4 you mention! I already have highlighted them in my Excel spreadsheet :)
Thanks for the help, mate !2nd September 2014, 2:50 at 2:50 am #273065
The team I miss the most, by a long, a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way is Minardi. Best. Team. Ever. Period.
Jordan (cool yellow liveries were always nice to see…)
Ligier (French blue and so much history)
Old Lotus (dah… obviously)
Arrows (yeah! even the name was cool)

I JUST FINISHED 2ND AT COTA !!!!!!! YAY !
Most difficult thing I’ve done so far in iRacing. Consistency is extremely tricky here ! those yellow tortoise-like kerbs on the fast bits, and the lose back end in the slower bits make up an imposible track to lap comfortably, for me at least.
I’m now leading my division :O !12th August 2014, 8:47 at 8:47 am #270289
COTA with the SRF is soooo tricky ! I had a hard time getting used to the car at Donington, as it needed a lot of accuracy in getting the car turn in at the exact moment to gain some speed. It was very difficult for me.
COTA seems like you can go round at a reasonable pace, but to be on top of the timesheets you need some seriously polished driving!
I’m having a hard time going round without an incident. It doesn’t help that it’s got so much tarmac run offs… there’s just so much tiume to gain by pushing the boundaries.11th August 2014, 15:18 at 3:18 pm #270274
@george how could you get so fast round COTA with the SRF in such a short time :O!
What are you guys racing this week :)?8th August 2014, 1:12 at 1:12 am #269666
I just finished 2nd at Mosport with the Caddy ! My Q lap was around 1:19.5, and the field wasn’t particularly strong, but still ! I did almost the whole race in the 1:20s :)
Curiously, my fastest lap came on lap 8… So I suppose there’s a lot more for me to give in this track, considering how fast the tyres drop off…
Still ! Happy :D7th August 2014, 19:11 at 7:11 pm #269656
@george I totally adore the last sector. Those 3 corners flow very well. Also I don’t have the balls to go full throttle on turn 4! it needs juuuuuust a little lift, but you want to plant the foot on the floor there!
I’ll qualy tonight and see what happens7th August 2014, 13:11 at 1:11 pm #269644
I saw it, yeah ! :D haha very nice !7th August 2014, 3:44 at 3:44 am #269617
@george believe it or not, not as many as I initially thought ! Turn 5 and 6 on the other hand are making my life difficult, very tricky to get a good line there !
I picked up the rhythm quite fast here. I’m not impressing anyone but I’m consistently pacing around on the 1:20′s :P6th August 2014, 2:53 at 2:53 am #269578
I’m already C Class! Yay! :D
Bought my first 6 circuits and already loving the Caddy at Mosport. :)2nd August 2014, 14:52 at 2:52 pm #269383
Boy is the Spec Ford a car that teaches you. I’ve been practising for the first race during the week, and I was struggling massively with the lift-off oversteer. But I managed to control it and set reasonably fast laps, and now I’m faster in all the other cars aswell!2nd August 2014, 5:22 at 5:22 am #269376
1. What country are you in (and state, if applicable)
2. Which channels broadcast F1 near you?
Fox Sports (Latin America)
3. Do they show all the races live or only a limited number (if so, how many?)
All of them
4. Do they also show qualifying live?
Yes (and it depends – see question 6)
5. Do they also show practice sessions live?
Depends (see question 6)
6. If they are a subscription channel, what does a full year’s subscription cost (excluding limited time offers)?
It’s not free, you’ve got to pay for the provider. Depending on what pack you’ve got (standard vs digital+HD), you get all the races and qualy live and some practice sessions live too (depends what other sporting event is taking place which might be more important).
HD pack costs around 1600 pesos a year (roughtly 1500 euros).
The standard, non HD shows every race live, and a couple of repeats during Sunday most of the time and it’s considerably cheaper…
7. Do they broadcast coverage online? If so please post link/s
8. Please supply any other relevant information such as alternative viewing options
I have the HD pack, so I watch the race on the telly and listen to SkyF1 coverage from illegal online streams on my laptop. There’s a bit of a gap between what’s happening on both broadcasts but it works just fine!1st August 2014, 13:07 at 1:07 pm #269078
@joey-poey damn whoever put that fence there…! :P
I’m sure about that. I usually go to the Rookie class and beat them just to feel nice hehe !1st August 2014, 1:08 at 1:08 am #269067
He won, I crashed against the fence and recovered to 8th. At least I got some iRating and SR back… but I could’ve finished 3rd or so :’(
It’s a nice series that one. I cannot wait for it to move onto another track, Charlotte is not my cup of tea.
But great fun !
