I think it’s more the fact that it can run for 24 hours, rather than 90 minutes. F1 has near enough zero road relevance.

@fangio85 They actually started at the 2nd corner (of the combined circuit, meaning the switchback immediately after the first corner) and ended the lap half way up the Döttinger Höhe.

I agree that Alonso is modest in qualifying
There are only 2 people on the current grid that are better qualifiers than Alonso – Vettel and Hamilton.
I would hardly call that ”modest” .

It would be nice, but I’m sceptical until we see concrete announcements. The new engine formula isn’t bringing manufacturers flocking back as promised. The original proposals might have been better.

No, its a special made, extra hard demonstration compound (the idea is that a team learns as little as possible by using it for these runs)

I’m actually surprised that Schumi’s Mercedes made it around the 22 km long track without destroying the tyres completely.
