the feeling is increasingly that Sky are not interested in providing a good service for F1 fans, but instead are holding the sport we love to ransom.
Which is what they always do, which is why myself and plenty of others flat out refuse to give money to them, even if it means I get less enjoyment from half the year’s races. The more money they make the more they can afford to buy out everything that is worth anything on free channels.23rd July 2014, 18:43 at 6:43 pm #267894
I dont really think anyone has improved a lot over last year. Perez is getting better results but I think this car probably suits him better (quite similar to his old Sauber), and I’m still not convinced he’s gotten over his over-aggressive racing. I think Maldonado is a better driver than Massa so that would explain Bottas performing better relatively. Chilton seemed to start the year stronger but I’m not sure if that was down to mechanical problems for Bianchi.
The only possible improvement I would say is from Alonso who seems to be back to his 2012 form after being a little bit off last season.22nd July 2014, 0:33 at 12:33 am #267692
Depends, is Frijns ever going to get an F1 seat?21st July 2014, 22:39 at 10:39 pm #267681
@tommyb89 He almost caused a big accident squeezing Raikkonen into Alonso though. He was a bit naughty a few times actually, I remember when he came out of the pits one lap he squeezed Alonso off the track.
I would go for Ricciardo on…cant remember who it was, the first one where he dummied to the outside into t8.18th July 2014, 23:19 at 11:19 pm #267056
@fer-no65 here’s the new schedule thread http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3264178.page16th July 2014, 20:44 at 8:44 pm #266745
@fer-no65 Week 13 is just a gap between seasons, there’s usually a big patch and they run unofficial races using whatever new content they’re adding for the next season.
It’s definitely better to stick to one series to begin with for that reason, once you have most of the tracks it gets a lot cheaper but it’s a bit of a bitch starting out. I would say choose a series and buy the first few tracks on the schedule for the 10% or 20% discount and see how you like it.
They usually publish a PDF with the confirmed calendar towards the end of week 12 I think. I’ll link it when I see it.16th July 2014, 18:25 at 6:25 pm #266732
@fer-no65 For most series it needs 8 drivers to go official (be eligible for championship points), I’m not sure if this works for MPR too.
There is some chat functionality on the main page but it’s pretty crappy, I usually stick to forum PMs.
If you need any help deciding what to buy feel free to ask. Some series are more lively than others and some cars are easier to drive than others. I wouldn’t be in too much of a hurry to get to A-class, you would probably be better off starting in D-class while you learn the systems, B and A-class cars tend to need quite a lot of setup work and they’re not always shared freely. The D-class series usually try to use more free tracks in the schedule to keep costs down too.15th July 2014, 21:27 at 9:27 pm #266653
Sent a friend request. You’re doing a great job so far @fer-no65 , out of rookie already :D.
We’re on the last week of the rotation this week so it’s time to start thinking on which series you want to compete in next season. According to the forum they’re going to be mixing up some of the road series, here’s the thread http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/3262489.page .14th July 2014, 22:31 at 10:31 pm #266527
So close! Wish I hadn’t missed a couple of matches early on now. I also got pretty close with my original prediction :)
I think Whoever wins Group B (Spain or Netherlands) will be in the final against the winner of group G (Germany or Portugal).12th July 2014, 13:10 at 1:10 pm #266443
Third Place play-off: Brazil v Netherlands 2-0
The Final: Germany v Argentina 1-08th July 2014, 23:44 at 11:44 pm #266206
only four goals out, not bad :D7th July 2014, 17:20 at 5:20 pm #266022
Brazil v Germany – 1-3
Holland v Argentina – 2-15th July 2014, 0:17 at 12:17 am #265520
Bad day for me too, so much for upsets :P
Argentina v Belgium – 2-0
Holland v Costa Rica – 3-03rd July 2014, 0:04 at 12:04 am #265178
France v Germany – 3-2
Brazil v Colombia – 2-2 (3-4 penalties)
Hoping for some upsets. France are the only team still in that I haven’t seen any games for, but their goalscoring record is pretty impressive so I’ll go with them.
