Hallard commented on the post, Solving MP4-28 problems key to 2014 – McLaren 1 week, 2 days ago
Am I the only person reading this as a tacit admission that McLaren is using the MP4-28 as a test bed for some concepts which will become crucial with the 2014 -> regulations?
On one hand that would make their […]

Hallard commented on the post, Button’s complaint shows we need more team radio 1 week, 3 days ago
I may be in the minority here, but I certainly don’t think the broadcast of Webber vomitting in his helmet and continuing to drive at the limit could be considered embarrassing. If anything, I think that moment […]

Hallard commented on the post, New car and new races for GP3′s fourth season 1 week, 3 days ago
Totally agree that F1 cars should be getting faster… but I think you’ll find that F1 cars are much, much quicker than Indycars in any trim.
F1 cars have ~750bhp (without KERS) in a 642kg chassis (incl […]

Hallard commented on the post, DRS and tyres: Has F1 got the balance right? 2 weeks ago
I would like to see the fragile tires and DRS gone, because they are band-aid measures that bring the credibility of F1 as a sport into question.
The problem is that F1 has gotten to a point where these items […]

Hallard commented on the post, McLaren “looking everywhere” for performance 1 month, 3 weeks ago
I thought Sam Michael was McLaren’s sporting director, and Tim Goss was their technical director (albeit “interim”), no?

Will I guess that makes two of us…

Hallard commented on the post, Australian GP qualifying postponed to Sunday morning 2 months ago
I really think that Pirelli should improve on their full wet tires, so that they can handle much more water. I know that Q2 was postponed largely due to daylight (or lack thereof) conditions, but the Bridgestone […]

Hallard commented on the post, Whitmarsh: “One of the hardest days” for McLaren 2 months ago
I’m trying to remain calm at least until qualifying, but it looks like an unmitigated disaster for McLaren so far. I don’t doubt that the MP4-28 has more development potential than the MP4-27, but at the same […]

Hallard commented on the post, Button anxious for more test mileage at McLaren 2 months, 3 weeks ago
I wouldn’t read too much into this statement from Button. He’s always one to provide a more detailed assessment of his car than the average ‘it’s good but we need to work on it a lot but it’s good.’
Also it’s […]

Hallard commented on the post, Webber knows he will get equal treatment – Horner 3 months, 1 week ago
Every time Horner speaks I feel like he is insulting my intelligence. Whether it’s ‘Our front wing isn’t flexing, we just run a lot of rake.’ or ‘Webber has always received equal treatment to Vettel, and always […]

Hallard commented on the post, Button plays down rapid lap on day one of testing 3 months, 1 week ago
Of course he played it down. Winter testing lap times are not meaningful, especially on the first day!
…but I really wish they were :^)

Hallard commented on the post, Vote for the best F1 driver of 2012 4 months, 4 weeks ago
Fair question… really I’ve only counted these examples against Hamilton because they are instances in which Button did differently, and as a result outperformed Hamilton in some respect.
Hamilton made the […]

Hallard commented on the post, Vote for the best F1 driver of 2012 5 months ago
Gotta agree! Alonso and Hamilton were pretty equal in my eyes, but I voted Hamilton out of pity for his extensive misfortunes rather than a means of evening out the scoring here :-)

Hallard commented on the post, Vote for the best F1 driver of 2012 5 months ago
The top 3 this year (VET, ALO & HAM) were so agonizingly close in their performances this year (twitter and team radio idiocy notwithstanding), that I can only come to a ranking by comparing their […]

Hallard commented on the post, FIA publishes new F1 rules for 2013 and 2014 5 months ago
Thanks for that! I had looked up the figures for the Belgian grand prix 2002 vs. 2012 and saw a similar delta there, even with Spa being slightly more demanding in terms of downforce (meaning that the drop in […]

Hallard commented on the post, FIA publishes new F1 rules for 2013 and 2014 5 months ago
Holy crap that thing looks fun!
And I agree, 685kg is not that heavy, when you consider that WRC cars are 1230kg (if I recall correctly). However, if they’re going to increase the weight of an F1 car, they […]

Hallard commented on the post, FIA publishes new F1 rules for 2013 and 2014 5 months, 1 week ago
Boo. F1 cars should not be getting slower.
I can’t be the only one who finds it depressing that F1 cars were much faster 10 years ago than they are now (even with the stupid grooved tires), and the 2014 regs […]

Hallard commented on the post, McLaren confidence boosted by strong end to season 5 months, 2 weeks ago
I’m becoming increasingly disheartened by some of the comments coming from the Red Bull camp lately. First we had Vettel accusing other teams of employing “dirty tricks”; then Horner is going on about how Vettel […]

Hallard commented on the post, Vote for your 2012 Brazilian GP driver of the weekend 5 months, 3 weeks ago
I’m really surprised to see Vettel and Hulkenberg getting so many votes here, considering that both of them took another driver out of the race with… optimistic maneuvers… and nearly took themselves out in the […]
